Escape from Tarkov

I Escaped From Tarkov, I think you should too.

Currently on the official tarkov discord server, people are spamming this copypaste as an angry response to what tarkov did, many streamer also came out against it.

For the context to those who dont play tarkov, tarkov is a seasonal, multiplay extract shooter that has a base price of 59USD, while having different p2w bundle ranging from 79 to 159. The bundle includes extra starter content and inventory space that a normal player would spend weeks to grind for each season, also has exclusive content such as gold gametag. Because tarkov does not have other in-game purchase other than the heavily priced bundle, players were OK with it, and thanks to tarkov's unique gameplay, the game gained a lot of popularity in the past few years, nearly every tarkov gamer that I know of, have purchased 150usd bundle because of the advantages it gives. Tarkov also had nearly no competitor, all similar contenders died one after another, the surviving tarkov competitors that I can think of right now are Chinese copy from Tencent and NetEase, and Call of duty's DMZ mode.

However, tarkov discontinued their most expensive "edge of the darkness" bundle (150USD) a few month ago and today they replaced it with a 250usd "Unheard" bundle. The bundle includes more p2w content such as

• extra pocket slot,

• increased start level of your character skill, increased stash space and even higher starting reputation with traders

• exclusive single-player mode that does not wipe each season

• exclusive hideout zone and even signal transmitter to communicate with other players in-game

• faster insurance pay speed, more sell slot on in-game market, and 50% discount on in-game cash service

• a "unique melee weapon" that is a 7 usd unity store asset flip

• AI will not shoot you beyond 60 meters after reaching max reputation with Fence (a faction in game)

Unlike the 150 p2w version, many of these are completely exclusive and are fairly OP in a such tactical seasonal multiplay shooter game.

Player and streamers are mocking this situation and even Arena Breakout, a Tencent's tarkov copy, came out to mock on the situation, made a tweet says "We will never scam our players unlike some other games! We will soon open our closed beta on Steam", basically a free PR for any Tarkov competitor. Another Czech based tactical shooter that was just recently released, called "GreyZone Warfare" is also mocking the tarkov situation, with a tweet "How many do you think our game cost? 35, 45, 55, 250?"

Heute ist einer der schwierigsten Tage um Tarkov Fan zu sein.

*Einschub (Mods bitte lesen !) : Ich hatte diesen Post zuvor fälschlicherweise mit dem Flair "Informationen" verlinkt, was vermutlich zu einer Löschung geführt hatte. Ich denke der Flair "Diskussion" sollte korrekter sein und um weiterer Löschungen vorzubeugen habe ich den Link zum verlinkten Video auch entfernt. Falls die Löschung durch einen Mod erfolgt ist, möchte ich bitten, diesen Post zu erlauben, da EFT sowohl ein beliebtes Spiel bei den PietSmiets aber auch bei der PietSmiet Community ist. Aufklärung über diesen Abzock Skandal sollte also zumindest geduldet werden, auch da sich viele Fans die Rückkehr des EFT-Turniers wünschen. Ich möchte hier auch betonen, dass man nicht meiner Meinung sein muss bei diesem Thema, noch dass ich PietSmiet oder ihre Community dazu zwingen möchte das Spiel zu boykottieren, dennoch ist dies inakzeptables Verhalten seitens BSG, welches zumindest diskutiert werden sollte. Da ich weiß dass viele von PietSmiet auch wie ich große Fans von Escape from Tarkov sind, möchte ich eucht ausdringlich bitten ( so sehr es schmerzt ) das Spiel und deren gierigen und auch einfach menschlich gesehen ekelhaften Entwickler vor erst nicht weiter zu unterstützen bzw. diesen eine Plattform zu bieten.

Dies fast gut zusammen, welche Dreistigkeit sich die Entwickler gegenüber ihren Spielern, ihren Supportern , zahlenden Kunden und auch gegenüber der gesamten Gaming Industrie erlauben.

Ich weiß, dass viele sich hier auch wieder EFT Turniere wünschen und sich manche vermutlich auch wünschen, dass PietSmiet diesen neuen PVE Coop / Singleplayer Modus probieren und in ihren Formaten einbauen wird.

Situationen wie diese in der Gaming Branche erfordern jedoch die Courage Nein sagen zu können und zu boykottieren. Es sind Geschehnisse wie auch beispielweise damals bei Star Wars Battlefront 2 oder bei dem Unity Skandal im letzten Jahr wo die Gaming Community zusammenhalten muss und NEIN sagen muss.

Es ist ein Prozess in dem die Grenzen ausgetestet werden von Gierigen Entwicklern, die sich nicht für ihre zahlenden Kunden interessieren. Nicht nur BSG ( die entwickler ) sondern die gesamte Industrie muss wissen, dass solche Versuche nicht erlaubt sein sollten.

Hier werden zahlende Kunden, die normale Spielerschaft ( Pay 2 Win Aspekte ) und neue Spieler gleichermaßen verarscht. 315€ ist KEIN Spiel der Welt wert und schon gar nicht, eines das von solchen Entwicklern kommt, die ihre Spielerschaft so betrügen und verarschen will.

Ich denke das besonders bei solchen großen Spielen und so großen Skandalen die Content Creator die größte Verantwortung tragen. Sie können die Spieler darüber aufklären aber auch mobilisieren sich zu positionieren.

Schön wäre natürlich, wenn sich gerade die Smiets als Content Creator die gerade in Streams viel EFT gespielt und repräsentiert haben, dagegen aussprechen, aber das verlange ich nicht.

Ich möchte euch Spieler und die Smiets nur bitten (!), diese Dreistigkeit nicht zu unterstützen und deshalb vorab auch EFT und ihren ekligen Firmenpolitik keine Plattform zu bieten. Ich verstehe jeden Menschen der sich EFT Turnier und Videos zurückwünscht, aber es sei gesagt dass dies nicht die erste Dreistigkeit seitens BSG ist.

Sie haben akute Probleme des Spiels nun jahrelang ignoriert und beispielsweise nie die Cheater Problematik oder die Bugs in den Griff bekommen.

Ich möchte auch noch mal betonen dass das Spiel nach wie vor nicht full released ist und von diesem Zustand auch noch weit entfernt ist. Das sie den Wunsch vieler Spieler ( PVE Coop Tarkov ) mit so einer Paywall von 315 euro ( dabei ist nicht mal Arena enthalten lol ) ausnutzen wollen, zeigt wie viel Respekt dieser Entwickler vor uns Spielern und unserem hart erarbeiteten Geld hat.

Glaubt mir wenn ich sage, dass es schmerzhaft ist, dies als langjähriger Fan und auch ehemaliger Unterstützer von EFT zu sagen. Ich für meinen Teil habe das Spiel deinstalliert und werde diesen Aasgeiern keinen weiteren Cent zahlen, selbst wenn sie all diese "Änderungen" zurücknehmen sollten, denn leider ist diese Aktion und dieser Versuch des Grenzen Austestens sehr entlarvend darüber wie der Entwickler denkt und uns als Spieler und Käufer betrachtet.

I’ve never played Tarkov before but I feel like I hate this dude.

Between matches I decided to stop tik tok doom scrolling and practicing guitar exclusively and over the past two months my skill lever has sky rocketed. What kinda stuff do you guys do in the 5 minutes waiting on a match to pop?

Long story short, my brother likes DMZ but hates having people come out of nowhere and killing him. I love the PvP aspect, but I can only do so much when we have a full team on us.

So yeah, is there a game like that that keeps the PvP out unless you knowingly enter the area, like The Division's Dark Zone?

Editing for clarity: First person only, so no Division or the like. Semi realistic mechanics, no bullet sponge enemies, and you can die just as quick. Military or apocalyptic real world scenario, so no zombies or aliens. Resource gathering and quests to run, like EfT, with base building being an optional mechanic.

This map has a ridiculously awful map design - spawns are so fucked that basically if you spawn in some places you are most likely dead because of a huge advantage other spawn have on you, hills so large and complicated it is impossible to spot someone on it and extremely quick play scav spawns. It is beyond me how anybody can like this map. I just ran from place to place for 10 minutes straight getting shot from 3 different hills untill I had nowhere to run.

Fuck this map and fuck campers

Obviously not finished at all but I am so happy that the first prototype of the inventory is working.

Arena Even yesterday at peak time a lot of streamers were fed up with Arena, the few I tuned into like Summit and Lvndmark all said if it wasn't for them signing up for the Tournament later they would have quit playing it. The devs working on Arena should be told to do whatever major things they can and pack it up.

Summary:

1. Low boss spawn rate - impossible mission for casuals

2. The game needs casual players to survive in the long-term

3. "I rather want hatchet runners in my raid than have cheaters "

4. FIR system: no more hatchet runners - Carry service drastically increased (more cheaters)

5. "BSG needs to stop making the game around cheaters and full-time streamers "
