Now if there's one thing you can be sure of, it's that nothing is more powerful than a young boy's wish. Except an Apache helicopter. An Apache helicopter has machine guns AND missiles. It is an unbelievably impressive complement of weaponry, an absolute death machine.
It's also something that is rarely shown accurately in media. There is no such thing as a hellfire missile missing, or being able to jump away from its blast. There is no such thing as its machine gun missing or being able to outrun it. The amount, and speed, of death a single Apache can dish out is biblical.
I seem to remember reading/seeing somewhere that their machine gun uses eye-tracking of the pilot to aim where they're looking. Is that real or am I making something I saw in a video game into reality?
You remember correctly. Gives a whole new meaning to the evil eye.
This is real my friend. I think that tech was actually first put on the AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter. Could be wrong though
Well the tech was first developed by South African Air Force in the mid 70s, which is impressive. It is called Helmet-Mounted Sights
Yes the helmet has a sensor and there are two sensors behind the pilots to see where they are looking. Head movement will move not only the 30mm but the camera as well. Source: former 15Y Apache repairer.
You're correct, and its not just a machine gun, its a chaingun that shoots explosives that are 30mm in diameter (for comparison, .50 cal bullets are 12.7mm in diameter)
I guess he has to be careful not to suddenly look up or back when he's mowing down villagers.
The cannon on the AH-64 fires wherever the pilot is looking. If he can see you, you're dead.
And even if the pilot can't see you, the AH-64 has plenty of other detection systems that can.
Now is this due to the particular conditions at the time (high or low humidity, etc) or is this always happening and we just don't notice it?
This vapor trail would be due to the particular conditions. The vortices are always happening, but for them to be visible they need to make the water vapor in the air (which is invisible) condense into liquid water drops (which is what a cloud is). This happens if the air is humid enough that the temperature and pressure drop that happens inside the vortex is enough to get the air below its dew point, which is just a fancy term for the conditions under which the vapor will condense. Much more on wikipedia.
No. The government is testing chemtrails delivery systems on helicopters as the next phase in the alien takeover.
Speaking from experience (on a different helicopter) it's probably because it rained the previous night or earlier in the day.
Truly terrifying sight seeing one of these in person. Silver lining for anyone on the receiving end is they will not see it.
