Action Movie quotes delivered just before all hell breaks loose.

I've just finished watching Man on Fire.

Christopher Walken's character delivers a great line, referring to Denzel Washington's character:

A man can be an artist... in anything, food, whatever. It depends on how good he is at it. Creasy's art is death. He's about to paint his masterpiece.

I love it when there's a line like this is action movies, you know all hell is about to break loose.

I'm sure we can list off some great examples.

What are action movie buffs sick of?

What is it that you're absolutely sick of seeing in Action films? For me, it's the hero sewing up his/her own wound. I swear it's a damn...dare I say...staple. Oh, and of course, the walk-off explosion. But that shot has been parodied to death, so hopefully, we'll see less of it in any "serious" action flick. Or how about the villain spilling their entire diabolical plan to the tied-up hero instead of just putting a bullet through that open ear?

Con Air on paper is a really horrible movie. Over the top performances from Nic Cage and John Malkovich, really cheesy script, cliche action movie tropes, but it's peak 90s action movie slush and it's so damn entertaining.

Nic Cage gives one of the worst southern accents to the point it's hilarious watching him in retrospect, but it's also one of the most badass performances you're going to see. The script isn't great, but Cage's performance is so good that you instantly fall in love with Poe and they build his good guy character up well enough that you can buy this guy is willing to give up his freedom and life to help this female officer and diabetic man he met just that day. The movie also surprisingly juggles really heavy subject matters very well. The scene where Danny Trejo's character is about to sexually assault the female officer is genuinely tension filled and then the other scene where Steve Buscemi finds the little girl and you don't know for a while if he killed her not is really interesting. Overall the 80s and 90s made the best action movies and movies like this that I've seen probably 50 times and I smile each time I watch it is proof of this. Probably the only good movie Simon West ever made.

What do you think is the funniest action movie?

I somewhat recently watched Demolition Man for the first time in ages. I think I only saw it the one time on video back in the day. I remember liking it but not much past that. Watching it again years later & it's such an absolute blast: Wesley Snipes playing the Joker, Stallone as a fossil out of time & the futurespeak. Every little bit of ridiculous futurespeak just kills me. "What's your boggle?", "Enhance your calm." & so on. I've watched it a few time since then feel like the movie is endlessly rewatchable. What do you think is the funniest action movie?

Making an action movie about bread. Need puns for the title
r/dadjokes

Welcome! This is a friendly place for those cringe-worthy and (maybe) funny attempts at humour that we call dad jokes. Often (but not always) a verbal or visual pun, if it elicited a snort or face palm then our community is ready to groan along with you. To be clear, dad status is not a requirement. We're all different and excellent. Some people are born with lame jokes in their heart and so here, everyone is a dad. Some dads are wholesome, some are not. It's about how the joke is delivered.
