Um - hi.
I realize this is a very unconventional thing to post here, and it's at most borderline on-topic, but I hope for at least some leeway. Basically, I'm seeking help from someone who's well-versed in most/all of Adachi's manga from early '88 and before, which Wikipedia tells me comprises:
Nine
Oira Hōkago Wakadaishō
Hitari Ryoko!
Miyuki
Touch
Rough (the first volume or two, at least)
Why? Long story short, I'm trying to identify pop-culture cameos from a particular chapter of fellow Sunday series Magic Kaito, which was published around March 1988 - and apart from three or four, I've basically hit a wall. I can't say for certain any of these balloons are meant to reference Adachi characters, but as Aoyama has said Adachi was a premier influence on his early work, I thought he'd be a good place to start.
I'm particularly interested in the balloon labeled Wakadaishō (若大将), a term featured in both a popular Toho film series from the '60s and an early Adachi manga (see above). Problem: I can't see that that balloon caricatures anyone from either. Would anyone here possibly know if Wakadaishō comes up as a name/motif in any of Adachi's other series?
(More generally, I'm also casting a line out for anybody who's into 70s/80s-era manga as a whole, especially Sunday titles. Anybody?)
