“How do I win these prizes”, we hear you say. Well, the Omnissiah has given Kasedo his blessing to host a colouring competition, and we are excited to share the details with you below. Read further to learn about how you can enter to win a number of amazing prizes!
The Game
So first, what is the game? Take control and play as the most technologically advanced army in the Imperium - The Adeptus Mechanicus. Your every decision will weigh heavily on the outcome of the mission, in this turn-based tactical game. Will you be blessed by the Omnissiah or will the Necron faction crush your Ad-Mech forces. The Competition
We are providing seven 2D black and white character artwork from Mechanicus, click HERE to download or check the link below! To have a chance at winning all you need to do is colour the artwork (using whatever medium you prefer) and submit your finished artwork for the Omnissiah to judge! Anyone can enter, and you can even enter more than once if you like. However, you will only be allowed to win one prize (to keep things fair for everyone). We have a pool of prizes for the Reddit community as well as a pool of prizes for Facebook and Twitter entrants, so there is plenty to go around.
To submit your entry, you must upload your image/s (scanned, photographed or digital image) to r/Warhammer as a single image or Gallery. Your entry must include [Mechanicus] in the title

It may seem really counter intuitive to use the soundtrack from a sci-fi game as the main theme for a gothic horror villain -- but it works SO well.
First off, the organ. A must for any self respecting vampire, and the Mechanicus soundtrack has it featured prominently in nearly every song.
The slow, methodical, chanting. This sets the tone that Strahd is someone who expects to be revered as a wielder of otherworldly power. Pair this with Strahd's soundtrack being the ONLY one to feature electronic instruments in your campaign, and it will really sell the alien / non-human / powerful feeling an encounter with Strahd should have.
Here is how I've used the songs in my campaign:
Introduction to Strahd / peaceful encounter -- Children of the Omnissiah
The slow build of the organ playing into the slow chanting with the electronic noises relegated to the background is a great example of what I was talking about in the third paragraph.
Generic Peaceful encounter - Caestus Metalican
Unlike the other "peaceful" song, this one starts with the chanting. I feel this is more appropriate for after the players have already witnessed Strahd's power in the introduction, but it's up to you.
Dinner with Strahd - Noosphere
If you can time this song correctly with your descriptions of the party arriving at the dinner, by the time you reach the dining hall doors and say something like "ever so faintly, you hear the sound of an organ begin to play" should coincide with the organ drop at 1:31 in the song.
My players went absolutely wild when they realized how I timed the song. It's really worth it if you think you can pull it off. Of course, be sure to leave a moment of silence after you say it so they have time to realize.
Generic encounter - Lost Civilization
I'm honestly not a huge fan of this one. I think the organ comes a bit too late in the song. But if you feel you need to mix up the songs you use a bit, this still has all the qualities the other songs have.
Combat music - Overlord
Great combat music for if Strahd is attacking the players with zombies/undead. More emphasis on the organ and electronic bits, with quick repetitive chanting coming in later.
Combat music - Millennial Rage
Big emphasis on drums and electronic bits with the organ coming in strong halfway through the song. Great for any combat situation involving Strahd.
And that's really it. Of course, you'll want to integrate songs from other sources for any special encounters you may have planned, but this was the main through line for my campaign.
This all worked really well with my players and I hope it works well with yours!
