AbeBooks alternative?

I used to be very happy about AbeBooks because I thought it was a sweet alternative to Amazon and I like price shopping. Then, I found out that AbeBooks IS Amazon. So, is there an alternative to AbeBooks, in the price shop for books category?

Bookshop.org (in the US) is one I have been using recently. It supports independent booksellers by acting as a sort of cooperative that was specifically created to be able to compete with Amazon's online platform. It's not perfect yet, but it does a really good job of amalgamating the inventory of these sellers. I would highly recommend checking them out.

Ugh, I had no idea! I’ve only ordered from them once because they were the only place that had a book my partner wanted. Typically I use Bookshop to try to support local bookstores. They’re not as cheap of an alternative as Thriftbooks, but I feel like it’s the next best thing to shopping at a local bookstore.

Me either, I literally just bought from them! Well, now I know alternatives from here. I posted for the first time literally a few minutes ago recommending them. I deleted it. Sigh. Well, apparently it’s hard to avoid Amazon even if you aren’t on Amazon.com! I’m gonna work towards phasing out Amazon in the near future, and hopefully this sub will let me do that soon. This post was very helpful.

The BEST AbeBooks alternative is Biblio.com. They share many of the same dealers, they are similarly geared to rare and used books, and they are staunchly anti-Amazon. Plus, they are eco-friendly and socially responsible, if you go in for that sort of thing!

I’ve found good prices and service with Book Depository, but now I’m afraid to see if they’re owned by Amazon cause everything is.

In that case, let me tell you that Book Depository is owned by a company that rhymes with Glamazon. It's almost like they have a Glonopoly!

Shit. I literally just posted here for the first time, recommending it because I thought the same. I just got stuff from there for the first time. I deleted my post right now. Ugh. Thanks for letting me know!

Betterworlbooks maybe? i don't live in the U.S so the shipping takes ages or the order never arrives ( got refunded), but the quality of the books i received was excellent.
