The movie Big is like two hours of child wish fulfillment, wherein a child gets magically turned into an adult and psychologically tortures his mother by making her think he was kidnapped. (That’s not the point of this post, but I just remembered that part, and holy shit. That’s dark.) As a kid I loved Big. As an adult, I find myself occasionally — not often — having those cliched desires to go back and do it all again, knowing now what I didn’t know then. I think the premise is ripe for a legacy sequel; household name, beloved property, nostalgia bait, etc. I don’t even know if this sub is the place to discuss a theoretical movie, but I really need this to get some traction so Tom Hanks can get going on it.

I gotta say, i really enjoyed this movie and I feel like almost anyone can. It's fun to see Tom Hanks in his younger roles. It's so wholesome. Has he ever been in anything even kind of dark, besides maybe Captain Phillips? I really feel like it holds up, but do you think it would be successful if it were released today with a 12 year old in an adult body having sex? I could see people having a problem with this. Also, would it be weird for Susan to go make the wish to be 12 years old? Like, if an adult wanted to be young again so they could be with a kid? I'm glad she stayed her age.
