Would be great if they covered 21 Jump Street soon for The Rewatchables. Its one of the funniest comedies of the 21st century imo and the chemistry between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum is amazing. Also Rob Riggle and Dave Franco are hilarious in every scene they're in. So many good contenders for Dion Waiters too: Ellie Kemper, Jake Johnson and Chris Parnell to name a few.

I was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't say it is on par with Superbad but it was damned funny. Ellie Kemper is hilarious, and Channing Tatum surprisingly worked as well. Rob Riggle was Rob Riggle as usual and Jonah Hill was good great.(edit- I reneged) Whoever played the lead female was very, very attractive and did a decent job as well.
There's a famous actor cameo in the end that blows your mind as well.
It was pretty raunchy and the trailer I saw looked sort of bad but I'm glad I went.
Plus it's 87 % fresh and 89% on Rotten Tomatoes which played a big part in me going to see it.

Rewatching 21 Jump street for the first time since it came out and I'm having some fun with a bunch of the actors playing high school kids, and the cops who should look like high schoolers. My favorite thing I found was the fact that Johnny Pemberton and Channing Tatum were both around 30 when filming, and they both look younger than Jonah Hill, who they are both older than. It's pretty great.

You guys remember 21 Jump Street, right?
That little quaint comedy film that stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as a two loveable dumb asshole buddy cops that kinda works as a semi-sequel series to the original Jump Street television series, while also being a satire of 80s action films?
What if Ghostbusters 2016, had gotten the same treatment?
Imagine this ...
The film is set nearly 27 years after the events of the first two films, The Ghostbusters have expanded completely, not just across the country --- but the entire world. You've got a Ghostbusters in Tokyo, Toronto, London, Paris, Beijing, Moscow etc. etc.
Most of the original team have split up, and gone their seperate ways --- Egon's dead, Peter is a life guru/talk show host, Winston is the President, and Ray is now the CEO of Ghostbusters. INC
The basic plot kicker is that Ghostbusters. INC is being fined by the United States Government for the lack of diversity --- this essentially forces Ray to recruit new members for the company, 2 males and 2 females -- all people of color.
The main villain of the film is an anti-diversity Ghostbusters fan trying to prove they can't do it.

The first one that comes to mind for me would be Booksmart which funnily enough stars Beanie Feldstein, Jonah Hill’s sister. However this did still come out all the way back in 2019.
I would also classify Game Night (2018) with Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams as this type of comedy but still from awhile back now.
As a massive fan of this genre, would love to see a resurgence in them.
