And, if you feel inclined to answer, why? Some of mine are: Supercollider, How to Disappear Completely, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Ingenue, Atoms for Peace, Fake Plastic Trees, Tinker Tailor, The Amazing Sounds of Orgy, I Will, and Creep.

Not sure what it is about these songs I like singing so much, which is why I asked y'all to explain why. Except Creep, cuz I grew up hearing it a lot long before I ever got into the rest of their stuff. And I Will, cuz goddamn those harmonies!

Anyone else agree that out of all the side projects, Atoms for Peace is the best one?

I think AFP is the most fleshed out and consistent (in terms of quality) side project of the Radiohead lads. It helps that Flea who is a fantastic bassist was part of the group, but I think aside from maybe Thom's solo stuff, AFP is the best Radiohead "side group". They seem more like they're their own band as well rather than something like The Smile which, while good, seem more like "Radiohead-lite" imo.

NEW Atoms for Peace album to be released in a few weeks?

Here's the source.

Here's the relevant quote:

Vous nous avez fait un beau cadeau avec ce mix, puisque vous avez interprété en exclu un des tout nouveaux morceaux de votre groupe Atoms for Peace ?

Nigel : Ouais ! L’album sort bientôt... Je sais plus exactement quand mais d’ici quelques semaines. Et vous êtes les premiers à avoir entendu le titre Magic Beans. Exclusivité pour vous.

Which translates into:

You gave us a beautiful gift with this mix, since you included one of the newest songs by Atoms for Peace?

Nigel: Yeah! The album will be released soon ... I don't know exactly when but in a few weeks. And you're the first to hear the title Magic Beans. Exclusively for you!

I want Atoms For Peace LP2.

I need those sick grooves and twitchy rhythms with some fat experienced production from Thom and bass from Flea. I need it. They've gotten so comfortable with such exciting arrangements of those songs, fuck, if not an LP2, just give me a live album.

With Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses. And don't spare the screaming, please (a they can dream).

Announcing the next community livestreamed gig, Friday at 5.30pm EST / 22:30 UK: Radiohead, Live at 93 Feet East, London (January 2008), followed by Atoms For Peace, Live at the Roundhouse, London (July 2013)

Double header coming up!

The 93 Feet East show is there to mark the 13 year anniversary of In Rainbows (a couple weeks late). This was a unique show for a few reasons. Announced on the morning of the gig, this would be the first public appearance since the record's release, and not only would it be in a very intimate venue, it would be open on a "first come, first serve" basis. The original location, a record shop in East London, has a capacity of about 200 people, and as you might expect, many more showed up - reportedly more than 1500 fans, which led to the police forcing a last minute change to an actual venue, just a bit further down the street.

It was all very rock and roll, and even if there were delays and confusion, the show was very much a triumphant success, which fortunately was captured for a webcast. No setlist spoilers, though it's safe to say In Rainbows features significantly (in its entirety, even), with some other delightful treats.

And following this, we'll move on to one of the few professional shot performances of one of Thom's solo projects: the next survivor series are going to be focused on them, which makes it an interesting opportunity to showcase live renditions of those songs.

Tomorrow we'll be watching a show performed by Atoms For Peace. The band (which includes Nigel Godrich, Flea, Joey Waronker, and Mauro Refosco) was formed by Thom to perform songs from his first solo record, and subsequently release Amok. This gig contains a mixed setlist pulling from The Eraser, Amok, and even a couple of covers, including one dedicated to Colin and Phil, who were in the audience that night.

As usual the chat will be open in the two hours ahead of our scheduled start time. Hope you can make it, it's gonna be a good one!

A while back Thom Yorke made some statements against Spotify. None of the music he ever touched was on there. Then, Radiohead albums came. Then his solo albums. Now Atoms for Peace. So I am just curious, what happened? Does Radiohead have no control/influence over his/the band's record label? Did they have a change of opinion? Where's Thom's outrage now?

I personally don't have a problem with spotify as a consumer. Now I don't have to waste time pirating music. Its convenient. But I am just curious as to where all that fire and fury went.

Artists like Thom Yorke solo and Atoms For Peace

First of all, I know this question has been asked many many times before, but please hear me out. I've discovered many great artists from the other threads that asked this question, but they all seem to lack the one thing that makes Thom Yorke stand out: those dreamy vocals. Trust me, I love Four Tet as much as the next man, but it's Thom's oddly hypnotic and hallucinogenic vocals that give songs like Default, Black Swan, Amok, Reverse Running, Unless, and all the other greats that addictive feel that makes you binge each song like a maniac. I've found Caribou on his album Odessa to be quite Thomy (for lack of a better word lol) especially on his song Jamelia. Long story short, I need some IDM/Electro-Alternative artists with absorbing vocals, not the computerized loops usually employed. The voice is still by far the most versatile instrument in my opinion, and a song without good vocals just doesn't draw me in. I found a band called The I'lls' and they really fit that description especially on their album A Warm Reception, but sadly they only have 2 EPs and a few singles. Please people, I need some good music to make it through the day. I've searched around but I can't seem to find anyone else who quite grabs me as much as Thom Yorke

PS: Favourite album is AMOK by far. It feels more refined than Thom's solo stuff

I hope this is the right place for this question lol. It's my first time making a thread on reddit. Thank you in advance everyone
