Posts about ASRock
So, just to save anyone else the $700 dollars ASRock just stole from me, I thought Iโd post a public service announcement:
Amazon is not an authorized distributor of ASRock products. ASRock will not honor the warranty of any products bought from Amazon, even if sold and shipped from โAmazon.comโ and not through a marketplace vendor.
As a โcourtesyโ they will start the 1 year warranty from the date they shipped the product, and if, as in my case, it sat in Amazonโs warehouse for the better part of a year โ you just donโt get any warranty at all.
I wish that I had a working PC to post this on but sadly Iโm a console gamer now. I saved and saved to afford that video card and now Iโm left with nothing at all.
Buyer beware!
Edit: u/advester has found that even Micro Center is not authorized to sell GPUs. The (very restrictive) list can be found here:
https://www.asrock.com/general/buy.asp?Product=VGA
Edit 2: been 48 hours since the mod of r/ASRock reached out to me, still no reply from ASRock itself.
Edit 3: 72 Hours now, still no resolution. I'm so thankful for all 200,000 of you who have viewed this thread and the one on r/asrock -- hopefully we were able to save lots of people from the mistake of buying ASRock GPUs from a non-approved vendor.
I'm gonna bid this thread adieu now, but I really do appreciate all of the support everyone has shown me!
Edit 4 (final): it's been over a week, still no official response from anyone at ASRock -- not even to let me know someone is looking into it. They're obviously not going to do anything about it. At this point I suggest anyone looking to purchase an ASRock product to choose another brand that actually stands behind their product.
