Why the hate for Ari Aster?

I have been noticing a lot of pushback on Ari Aster recently with a lot of people referring to him as words like pretentious. Personally I don’t really see it at all I think Hereditary is potentially the best horror movie of the last decade. Midsommar while not as good is still fantastic and Beau is afraid which I understand why someone might dislike is a movie I really loved.

It seems post Beau is afraid a lot of people have turned against Aster for seemingly no reason
