Seller sold me a counterfeit item. Poshmark made the judgement against her and she’s now harassing me

So seller sold a fake gucci shirt and I opened a case for counterfeit item. Poshmark deemed it counterfeit and instructed me to destroy the item which I did. It’s illegal to mail counterfeit items. Now the seller is harassing me, calling me names. I already reported her account for harassment and selling counterfeit items.

She also threatened me by saying she has my address.

Anything else I should do besides contacting poshmark support?

Update: thanks for the support!! I filed a police report and contacted Poshmark all the ways it will allow me. Hopefully Poshmark will act quickly. I’m in Canada and we have a 4 day long weekend coming up so hopefully I have an update next week.

Update 2: police file started and officer called me to get more info.

For those wanting me to send the shirt back. I totally would have if Poshmark sent me a shipping label. They didn’t because it’s illegal to ship counterfeit goods in Canada so they told me to destroy it. I will not pay money to ship that back to the seller.

Update 3: Poshmark responded on Friday with their scripted response for me to just block the seller and they will be looking into it. I provided them the police file number they responded again with the same scripted response. I was going to wait until long weekend is over to follow up if nothing was done. it looks like the seller’s account has been banned. Last thing she did was blast me in a listing she made and make herself out as the victim. That listing was taken down yesterday along with her other counterfeit item in her closet. Since last night, on my end I can’t see anything listed in her closet. r/kyliesworld who helped me report the seller as well and correspond with Poshmark couldn’t find the seller anymore. Thanks Kylie for your help with everything. Even if this was a temporary ban, I hope it teaches the seller a lesson. The RCMP is also still working on contacting her.

Thanks for everyone that stopped by and shared your experience. I’ve since used up my credit I had with Poshmark and I don’t think I will be shopping on that platform anymore.

Warning to sellers regarding posh authenticate: Buyer damaged a dress that sold for $700 and poshmark let her return it

Warning to sellers regarding posh authenticate: Buyer damaged a dress that sold for $700 and poshmark let her return it

I sold a dress for $700 that went through posh authentication. The dress was brand new with no flaws. Posh authenticates it, sends it to the buyer, she then opens a case saying “the zipper is stuck”, and wants to return it.

I added a comment saying there was nothing wrong with the zipper when I shipped it. You can clearly see in my photos the dress was zipped all the way up and I had to unzip to get it off the hanger. Additionally, poshmark website says they check hardware when authenticating, zipper falls under hardware.

Poshmark denies my case. I was pretty upset, I felt confident nothing would go wrong because the dress was in poshmark’s possession and it’s clear it was not damaged until it got to the buyer. Poshmark tells me to open a case if something wrong with the return when it gets back to me.

I just figured she didn’t like the dress so was looking for reason to return.

I get the dress back and the zipper is completely busted in pieces. She completely destroyed it. I’m so furious. I emailed poshmark with pictures and sent them a video of me unboxing it to their Facebook but haven’t heard anything back.

I don’t know if anyone has any advice or dealt with anything similar.

This is a warning to sellers to not rely on poshmark to back you up, even if the item was authenticated and it’s clear the damage was done by the buyer. It’s honestly turning me off selling on posh. I’ve had over 500 sales now and am a PA 2. It makes no difference to poshmark, they still let scammers get away with this. What if this was a luxury bag that sold for thousands? Buyer can just damage it and return it? What is the point of having posh authenticate to make sure what we send to them is as described?

Edit: thanks everyone who responded with advice. As of Sunday (March 31), I still haven’t heard back from poshmark. Whoever runs their Facebook messenger said I should hear back within 24-48 hours and this was on Thursday. I’m going to give them another business day to see if they respond, before I send another follow up.

I also had someone else inspect the dress who is more knowledgeable in this kind of stuff, and they said there were scissors involved where the zipper was torn, so this wasn’t an accident or a faulty zipper. They also noticed that there’s a ripped thread along the waist line where the zipper was torn, which is further proof the dress likely was too small on this buyer who ripped it, and tried to zip up a delicate dress with force, then lied to get her return approved.

Edit 2: Got a response from poshmark on April 1 saying: “After further review, we see that you reported wear that you feel was not present when the item was shipped to the buyer. In these cases, there is not enough evidence to determine if the damages were caused by the buyer or other factors, but we would like to help where we can. Therefore, we would like to offer you a courtesy of $70 in Posh Credits for the inconvenience” I replied to them saying a few things noted in this thread including the fact that I provided a video of me unboxing the return, and I’m not sure what more proof they need from me.

Poshmark and the suggestions to resell everything you’ve bought.

I have been finding it increasingly bizarre (not annoying or frustrating), that Poshmark messages me once per day to resell things I’ve bought. It almost feels like they want to be a pyramid scheme where all the buyers are just selling their purchases back to new buyers who will then sell them again 😂.

I think we all understand we can resell things, but mercy, I don’t want to resell everything i buy.

Maybe it’s just me but the notifications to resell everything are just goofy.

Poshmark can go to hell

Sometimes you just need to vent..

What’s the worst Poshmark experience you’ve had?

Has it stopped you from buying or selling on the app?

Does anyone actually know a real person that works for Poshmark support?

Lowballing offers comes with selling on Poshmark.

I don't understand why so many people vent for getting low ball offers. Making offers on items is one of thr reason why people buy on Poshmark. The recent post about a seller offended getting an offer for trying to sell used bra for the price of new post took the cake.

If Poshmark didn't allow buyers to make offers, there would be a lot less people buying on the app. I don't know why some people don't grow thicker skin and move on if they don't like the offer.

I sell on multiple sites and Poshmark is by far the worst

The pop-ups everytime I open the app are SO ANNOYING IDGAF about a posh party like who is using this app?? every time I list an item and it sells there’s some kind of issue, and there’s always a complaint. I have over 100 listings on other sites, I never get any complaints on any other app, but something about Poshmark i can’t seem to win. Also it’s weird that in the app they give you the option to add a filter to your listing photos, it’s almost like they are encouraging you to lie about how an item looks, or hide the details that aren’t as pretty like wtf? Anyone else have this issue?

What is up with Poshmark??

I like to buy secondhand and was looking for a sezane sweater. Every listing on poshmark of that sweater is only 5% off the retail price, if that. One listing for gaspard jumper I found was literally 1.5% off retail for a USED sweater. Are they just delusional? Are people actually paying near-retail prices for used sezane?

Poshmark let buyer keep item AND money

I sold a shirt which was authentic, buyer opened a case saying she wanted a return because the material made her think it was inauthentic.

Poshmark refunded the buyer AND let her keep the shirt. I wasn't paid at all.

I reopened the case and the same agent (I guess?) replied saying the shirt was probably not authentic so the buyer doesn't have to return it.

I often sell items over $500 that go through authentication and all have passed it. What gives?

I miss 2019 Poshmark 😢

That's it, really. I'm just so disappointed in this app now. I used to make really good money for YEARS, and suddenly in the last year-ish its just a dumpster fire. Between live sales, counterfeits everywhere, the algorithm being unreliable at best, promoted listings that are a joke, stale closets, etc, it just feels hopeless putting so much time and effort into it.

I'm still making alright money, but for the quality of items I have, I should be moving more. I sell things consistantly on Ebay and Depop, but I just love Poshmark's shipping &return policy, and it's always felt like my reselling "home base". But when I'm going literally 3+ days without a sale (which has NEVER happened in 6+ years on the app), yet things are selling fine elsewhere, it's frustrating.

Idk, I know I'm preaching to the choir for many, and yelling at the clouds for others. But I'm just so disappointed and frustrated at what Posh could have been. It could have easily become the Ebay of clothing had they played their cards right. But now they're rapidly losing credibility, and that's so hard to regain.

For those of you who are pumping out better numbers than ever, or doing well in live selling, I salute you. To those struggling too, I see you. I just miss 2019, for so many reasons lol
