Philippine–American War

TIL Mark Twain initially supported American Imperialism, but, after discovering America's true motives in the Philippine–American War by reading the Treaty of Paris, he changed his position, saying "And so I am an anti-imperialist. I am opposed to having the eagle put its talons on any other land."

TIL that the slang term "The boonies", used to describe remote rural areas, is short for "The boondocks" which comes from the Tagalog word "Bundok", which means mountains. Boondocks was coined during the Philippine-American war of 1899.

As an institution: how robust, how large, and how well organized was the Philippine's army during the Philippine-American War?

I have always wondered just how robust of an entity the Filipino army was at the time of the American attempts to conquer the Philippines as their own. What kind of army was General Goyo and General Luna have at their disposal?

How well organized was it? Was it based on the European model? How many men did it have underarms at its height?
How did it perform in battle against the American forces?

What sort of forces did they utilize? Are they an overwhelmingly Infantry oriented force or do they have cavalry and artillery?

It would be very interesting to compare and contrast the state of the Filipino army at the time, with say: the Boshin War era armies of Japan. (As they took place roughly around the same time)

Museums/Places that has Philippine-American War exhibits?

I am currently in Metro Manila for an internship for a few months and thought this would be a perfect opportunity to gather reference images of uniforms, and weapons used during the Philippine-American War, (the ones found in Google Images were not as great as references) for my game development thesis which inspired by that part of Philippine History.

I want to ask if you guys know a museum with such exhibits or people who are collectors of such uniforms and weapons. Thank you!

If mabini was president instead of aguinaldo, how would he handle the Philippine-American war?

If mabini was president instead of aguinaldo, how would he handle the Philippine-American war?

Would there be any differences? Would he notice most of his cabinets are traitors? Or would the outcome be the same as aguinaldo's?

Why is the Philippine-American War not as well-known in the American collective consciousness, despite acute knowledge of other imperialist debacles like Vietnam and Afghanistan?
