Credit to management where it is due, identifying a trade target in Pavel Zacha, and making it a one-for-one swap, was some excellent work. Zacha, still only 25 years old, is having a career year in Boston, and is thriving on the Czech line.

  • Zacha's 54-point pace would smash his career best of 36 in 2021-22.

  • The Haula-Zacha trade has allowed Boston to get 6 years younger at a key position. Though Zacha has been seldom used in the faceoff dot this season, his versatility brings some depth to both the center ice and wing positions for the Bruins.

  • Since signing a new contract on January 14th worth $4,750,000 with Boston that will kick in next season, Zacha has produced 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in 6 games played.

I liked Haula, but with Krejci returning and already having Coyle on the third line, he didn't fit with the team anymore. So, management flipped him for a productive middle six winger. Never let Devils fans tell you this guy isn't a solid player, he's been fitting in very nicely. I mean, just look at those per-60 comparables.. recognize any of those names?

• So I just randomly ran into Pavel Zacha, Jesper Boqvist, Jesper Bratt and Nico Hischier getting lunch

So today I walked into an Italian deli that I frequent near where I work (in Pennington, NJ) and ran into Zacha, Boqvist, Bratt and Hischier! They were meeting a friend and waiting for their to-go lunch orders. I walked up to them and said, "I know you guys! I'm a huge Devils fan!" and introduced myself. I shook Bratt and Hischier's hands, but was a little flummoxed and didn't recognize Boqvist right away but he helped me out by saying "I'm also Jesper!" (LOL) So random and surreal meeting them down here (1.5 hours from Newark). Anyway, LET'S GO DEVILS!

[Pavel Barta] David Pastrňák and Pavel Zacha can join Czech National Team on Monday, according to Czech GM Petr Nedvěd. They still have to undergo a medical examination on Sunday.
