There is no game on this planet that does not garner its fair share of criticism, especially games that plan to stand the test of time and stick around for long periods and thus garner what becomes a faction of old and new player base demographics.

There are so many of us in this genre, and we all have different ideals for what the game should be. Some of us, want a casual whimsical experience - and not a carbon copy of real life and some of us what every piece of the real word to be replicated in these games. Some of us what hyperrealism, while others want absurdist cartoon aesthetics.

I guarantee you, right here and now, not all of you will be satisfied with the end product, while others absolutely love it. Because it is not possible to appease everyone and attempting to do so, often results in a watered down game that is a jack of all trades but a master of the none.

Life BY You devs must pick a style and gaming loop and commit to that, and then do their best to make that focused style and gameplay as great as they can. They should not be trying to squeeze in every possible feature. It doesn't work. If they are going for full on realism, then not all whimsical gameplay styles will mesh well, and if they are going for whimsical, then not all realistic game style features will fit and trying to do both will likely result in an unfocused mess.

We need to all be patient, even if they have already announced a feature or, lack there of, that you are upset about - wait for the early release to see how they have implemented that decision, if it is a flat out dealbreaker for a high number of us, we can share that constructively, and I'm sure they will listen.

About the revenge against the Sims.... the devs there are doing their best. The sims 4 is an old game that is running on old frameworks and an old engine. If you are just a gamer with no insight on game development and allocation of budgeting when running a gaming development team - understand that often times, again, you can't please everyone.

Let's give these people some grace. They're not lazy, they're not ignoring you, they have to be diplomatic and sometimes what you want simply can not be implemented in a way that can be effectively programmed into the game.
