Hi. Trying to complete the parallel universe episode for which but I’m not good at using her. Can I get some tips?
How do I unlock backstage and could I get some tips to get it? Mainly for witch cause I cannot play her
I got the game recently and am really enjoying it beat all 6 of the warrior levels in 1-3 tries. Beat every other first level fairly easily except thief I finally beat level 1 of the thief on my 6 or 7th try and that was because I got turned into a bear early in the run. I just seem to constantly struggle trying to beat any level with the thief. Is this common for most new players or am I just trash with this character? Just wondering if others had the most difficulty with thief also?
I just got my last achievement for completing all the bonus rounds on Hard. No prizes for guessing Witch one took me longest to complete.
Anyway, here's how much I enjoyed the characters.
6: Witch. I am not big brain enough for her. She is so much weaker than every other character unless you find one of several specific setups that allow her to go infinite. I also find it frustrating how she needs to roll exact numbers just to get her equipment. That said, getting a good Witch run feels very rewarding, and Countdown taking out most of the player-side RNG is my single favourite episode.
5: Robot. Too much RNG in a game already full of RNG. The fact it's possible to bust out in just 2 rolls until Level 4 is horrible. That said, there are ways to mitigate the RNG with items like Buster Sword, and jackpots are more common than one might expect. You can also use your dice one at a time to prevent losing your equipment to errors at the cost of a sub-optimal turn. I find it amusing how Robot is the only character who benefits from being frozen, because computers don't like the heat.
4: Warrior. He's basic, but he makes for a good introduction to the game's concept. If he's too easy, Worse than a Curse is a respectable jump in difficulty, being about as tough as Witch's default. I like how Combat Roll makes things more consistent, too. He's a comfy character, which is good for when you don't want to think too hard.
3: Thief. Dice manipulation is fun :) Turning into a bear is very fun >:¬D While it can be annoying to keep rolling too high before you get your better dice manipulation, once you do get going it's great to absolutely demolish enemies with 10+ dagger uses. His gimmick of using enemy equipment also makes each fight a unique experience.
2: Inventor. I quite like how she forces you to cycle through equipment. It makes every new fight a new challenge to adapt to. The fact that you get to choose between 3 pieces of equipment to scrap means you can always keep your 2 best pieces of equipment, which has saved so many runs where I found a good synergy and never let it go. Getting a free action each turn from the gadget is a nice-to-have which also makes each fight unique. Also, some of the gadgets are hilariously overpowered, which is great fun! On any other character, being that OP would be boring, but because you lose your gadget at the end of each fight, it's a rush with no downside.
1: Jester. I like how Discard allows you to mitigate the RNG of not having reliable access to your equipment (something Witch can learn from) which makes getting lots of good equipment exciting. There's even the bonus of an extra strong Finale card if you make it through the whole deck. Also, Losers Weepers is the funniest episode concept in the game, where you have to sift through the enemies' awful equipment to find the good stuff. Most of all: there is nothing more fun in this game than getting a good SNAP! turn.
For the life of me, I cannot beat the Witch level! I’ve played probably 20 times if not more, I’ve made it to the last level a couple times, but I can never beat it! Tips??
Managed to do a Thief run. Upgraded ice spell from the magician freezes all dice and vanish from the ghost. Absolutely busted. Your opponent always gets 1 dice and that one dice is always a 1. Such a busted combo.
Realized I'd been repeating the same ineffective strategy - try to get equipment to make use of higher numbers (like pea shooter) and don't use uptick too often since it wastes a die.
New strategy: take kunai when offered as a level up and upgrade that, use uptick liberally to get 2s and 3s. I made good use of lockpick and counterfeit, and a little later on I replaced bump with magic spear (which I also upgraded). I used my last upgrade on counterfeit so that I could also fit in midnight charm to really get the most out of the magic spear.
Just got the game, beat my first ever run, unlocked thief, ran into this alchemist fellow, became a bear on my second ever run, went oonga boonga, and won. I had 0 knowledge of this game beforehand, but I can tell it's gonna be fire.
Does anyone know what happens if you manage to cancel Lady Luck's Wheelnof Fortune attack? Since you can get the beetle to lock a die and then use Robot or Handyman to zap the Wheel, she would only have 3 of the 4 required die to use it. Im just curious about the answer or if it can ever happen
I'm finally back on dicey dungeons since this summer and been doing every episode of every dice in order to finally beat this game and while I'm doing great with learning and progressing with every character and beating all their episodes, I feel like I'm hitting a wall with the inventor, specifically episode 4. I've tried a lot of different strategies but I always feel like I get blindsided and don't know how to improve at this point.. Trying to skip enemies to keep gadgets and I still get killed in two turns, focusing on attack rather than number manipulation stuff and get bad rolls as a result, upgrading a good item but I cannot hold good things that synergize good with it and enemies are too powerful for it to be super effective... It's super frustrating!! And I don't know what I'm doing wrong, anyone's got suggestions??
Since nobody has done this yet, I thought what if the Dicey Dungeons character had theme songs. I will only be including the playable characters and bosses (yes, I know the bosses technically have their own theme songs but I want to give them songs describing them as characters)
