Kenya ICT Practitioners Bill, Kill Technology innovation and creativity, of kenyan Freelancers and tech community

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtsoYgyR3PE

As a freelance software developer, I am frustrated by the Kenya ICT Practitioners bill which is a result of poor decision-making by our leaders, the bill only seeks to destroy Kenya's tech community and freelancers, as well as hinder Innovation in the country.

If we analyze a bill critically and rationally, the bill is absolutely useless and does not promote our technology in any way, its arguments are really weak and poor. This is the kind of bill you would expect from incompetent leaders who lack the basic capacity of reasoning.

I have never worked for any client or company that cared about my qualifications, all they ever wanted is to know if I can solve problems in their organization and add value to their business. In this field we succeed by thinking out of the box, working hard, researching, and learning as much as possible, it is a field that demands integrity, intelligence, and talent to solve real-world problems. Not by validation by any institution.

The community is pissed such that they cannot say anything because this how mad this bill is. I am so frustrated I have to put all my clients on hold as I am so anxious and disappointed.

Information and Communications Technology AI Chatbot Assessment

Got an email about having a video assessment for ICT. Anyone that gone through the assessment before can share what is like? Will the questions be technical (coding, theory knowledge), experience (internship, work) or aptitude (interests, projects) based? Do I have to type stuff out is it just verbal responses? Any tips to do well for the assessment? Thanks!

Which study field teaches about computer hardware?

I was wondering what field of study would be concerned with computer hardware?

I'm currently in the process of getting my CS degree, but after a recent course in operating systems I was wondering whether there were also some study fields which teach more about this aspect of computer science. I don't mean OS' in specific, but more like the hardware on which it operates.

I was thinking that perhaps it might be part of electrical engineering?

Does anyone know what I should be looking for? Or where a better place to ask would be?

Potentially banning TikTok, US Senate unveils The Restricting the Emergence of Security Threats that Risk Information and Communications Technology (RESTRICT) Act

A dozen US senators unveiled bipartisan legislation Tuesday expanding President Joe Biden’s legal authority to ban TikTok nationwide, marking the latest in a string of congressional proposals threatening the social media platform’s future in the United States.

The legislation, called the Restricting the Emergence of Security Threats that Risk Information and Communications Technology (RESTRICT) Act, does not target TikTok specifically for a ban. But it aims to give the US government new powers, up to and including a ban, against foreign-linked producers of electronics or software that the Commerce Department deems to be a national security risk.

The proposed law takes a wide-ranging approach to fears that companies with ties to China could be pressured by that country’s government into handing over Americans’ sensitive personal information or communications records. In the case of TikTok, lawmakers have said China’s national security laws could force TikTok’s Chinese parent, ByteDance, to provide access to TikTok’s US user data.
