Original Content Only
Project posts must be your own original work. You may not post on behalf of a family member, friend, etc. who does not have a Reddit account. Parents may post projects on behalf of their school-aged children.
4.
Content Creators must engage beyond their own posts
Content Creators who post threads linking to their social media content (e.g. YouTube channel) must have a history of engaging with the community beyond their own posts. This sub does not exist for content creators to get free SEO or increase their audience.
Linking to one's own social media or stating the handles is prohibited anywhere in the comments. No like , subscribe asks. this rule is a bannable offense, and can occur without warning. Use your profile page
5.
Projects related to firearms, religion, or flags will be allowed but locked
Projects made of wood that relate to flags, firearms, political, or military symbols or religious symbols are allowed. However, the comments section will be locked. These posts never stay on topic. The exception to this rule is recognized hate speech/symbols: These posts will be deleted. Violating this can result in a permanent ban. The focus of this sub is woodworking.
6.
No Self Promotion / Sale of items
No overt self promotion or direct linking to items for sale - including crowdfunding and auction websites. If someone in the comment section likes a project and asks if you have an online shop, that's one thing, which can be discussed in a PM. Any links to items for sale in posts and comments will be removed. Your shop information should appear in the about section of your profile. if you are a business owner, or content creator, contact the mods to receive special "verified" user flair
7.
Use proper descriptive title. Don't sensationalize your post. The focus should be on woodworking,
The focus should be on the woodworking, and not the woodworker. Titles and posts crafted to gain upvotes by indicating age, gender, previous post status, or similar will be removed. Picture where the primary focus of the post is a person will be removed. Examples include: "I know you all hate this...", "I don't care what you think...", "My last post was removed....", 'I am XXX years old..." or "I know I will get downvoted, but..." .
8.
Injury / Gore Posts
Posts showing a woodworking related injury must be submitted as text posts. Keep in mind we care less about the injury, and more how you got it and what you learned. Sharing safety tips is the goal.
You can include a link to an image, but any image posts or uploaded images will be removed and the mod team will ask you to resubmit it as a text post. If you include a link to an image, use the NSFW tag.
9.
Fractal / Lichtenberg Burning not allowed
Fractal/Lichtenberg burning posts are not permitted. While all woodworking activities carry some level of danger, fractal burning is very difficult to perform responsibly and safely. All such posts will be removed so as not to promote, inspire, or provide instruction for fractal burning. Violation of this rule, including attempts to circumvent, may result in a permanent ban.
