Q&A
Just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you for all the questions. That was good fun. Have a good night everyone, it's time for Paul and I to go be Dads for a bit....
Have you ever seen the brilliant "When I'm Liverpool" videos and also what do you think about then?
When do we get to see Aubrey again?
Christmas! He's back over late December. He started a Director's job in London for a commercial company so not until the I'm afraid!
Can't wait, perfect present. Good on him.
Will be good to be back and to talk about how fucking good we are playing!
Aubrey! My hero!
How did you first reach out to the club to do a "collaboration" or whatever, how'd they respond?
We originally approached them to do a pilot for LFC TV back in 2009, initially they responded well, but ultimately it came to nothing. The Dizzy Pens stuff that we did came through Vauxhall.
How come Chris doesn't like the Chelsea rent boys vine? It gets overplayed at times but I think it's great.
Honestly, it caused me quite a bit of trouble. Firstly, as soon as the video was released the Kick it Out campaign got involved and spoke to LFC about me for homophobic comments. After that we decided to take the video down and unfortunately it had already been vined so was out there. I got death threats from Chelsea fans and a load of online abuse, back then it was all new to me so I took it all to heart. It was a mistake. (Chris)
That's footie mate, I get it. It brings out the best and the worst. I've said things after bad footie matches I've thought I shouldn't of said that, just emotion.
Anyone have a link to the vine?
When you do matchday videos from within the Kop Paul, does anyone ever give you grief for filming or for your hilarious laugh?
I'm much bigger than everyone who sits near me, so no, haha!
Good answer.
Not as big as the guy from Arsenal Fan TV.
The AmA has now finished.
Massive thank you to the u/TheRedmenTV lads for spending their time here answering questions.
We hope to have another AmA set up at some point soon, keep your eyes peeled.
Oh ffs I literally JUST got here </3

haha this was legit my reaction! It's morning in Singapore so I just tuned in to r/liverpoolfc and realized the AMA happened 8 hours ago...
What do you think Sturridge's future is at LFC?
Hey guys,
I’m a long-time fan of the show, it’s amazing to think how far the show has progressed since you two having pints in the first “studio” or the lot of you volleying the new premier league ball at each other’s backsides. I feel like the show has allowed international Reds like myself a better understanding of Scouse culture and just how passionate our supports are. I have about a thousand questions but I’ll try and keep it short.
Is there any thought in releasing episodes in podcast form? I normally listen to the show at work or in transit on my phone and find that the audio is all I really require.
Paul can you talk about your journey as an entrepreneur it seems like I’ve watched as you’ve turned something you did for fun/to make some side money into a fulltime career. What was the biggest challenge? What are the long term plans for the Redmen organization?
I’ve just started listening to Ball Street and its quality, what podcasts/ YouTube channels do you guys typically follow for football chat, I’ve been listening to the guardian football weekly show for a while but I’m always looking for more.
Cheers
yeah - it's in the pipeline! (Chris)
Biggest challenge was just getting off my arse every week and doing it mate. It was and still is a shit ton of work, i think the late nights and working other jobs for the initial few years was about as hard as anything. Long term i'd like Redmen to expand to cover all things LFC related- to be something of an Independent LFC TV. If we ever manage to get everyone who subscribes on YouTube to subscribe to the website I also promise we'll bid for Premier League rights when they next come up, hahaha! (PAUL)
I'll be honest I don't normally listen to pods about Liverpool ( I used to listen to the Anfield Wrap A LOT and I love it but I was always conscious of ripping their ideas and thoughts so I stopped). I like the Football Ramble but don't really have time to listen to that many of them. I love the Dave Dameshek Football Program but that's NFL. As far as YouTube channels go I tend to watch VICE, some Copa docs and some of the KICK docs. I spend most of my time watching actual sport though particularly the NFL!!!! (Chris)
Wow. Had no idea Chris was into American Football. He's like the Richard Hammond of RMTV only better looking.

Whenever he wants! Hahaha! We have a permanent seat reserved for Jurgen!
You and me both, guys...
You and me both.
Same, It's my face...
What kind of content can we expect if Liverpool ever win the league? I want an uncensored Pajak reaction.
agreed.
The Pajak post wank reaction or pre wank?
Would you rather play against a Coutinho sized Matip or a Matip sized Coutinho?
CHRIS- Coutinho sized Matip, for obvious reasons.
PAUL- A Matip sized Coutinho would be the most incredible player in world football, basically like Usain Bolt as an Attacking mid! So yeah the other one...
Good job to the whole Redmen tv team for producing such quality content.
I wanna know what's most exhilarating fixture(scenes after result) you guys had covered?
CHRIS - I think for me it was the Dortmund game. The whole build up, match itself and feeling around the final whistle blew the lid off everything else I've ever witnessed while we've been doing this. I felt proper connected to everyone in the ground and it was the weirdest feeling I can remember at the footy. It was mad - I can't really explain it. There was an electricity in the air and it just felt like something great was gonna happen. That was my very own Istanbul.
PAUL - Yeah Dortmund was something else, mind blowing. The only one that comes close since we've been doing the show is Man City at Anfield. There was a constant wall of noise whenever they had the ball. We all left the ground that day genuinely believing the title was on it's way. We were wrong, badly, haha, but yeah at the time it was just incredible.
Sounds incredible and thanks to you guys Reds all over the world got to experience the scenes afterwards. I'm sure (hopefully) May will overshadow all the previous nights at Anfield.
Who would you spend a day with?
El Hadji Diouf or Salif Diao
Diao. Defo. El Hadji's a bad tit. end of
You spelt cunt wrong
Diao was actually a dope motherfker, just was shite.
Yeah. I always liked Diao. He wasn't quite good enough for that level, but he did his best, worked hard, and always seemed like a good guy.
If you could've been around to record a post-match reaction video for any LFC match in history, which one would you choose?
It's Istanbul isn't it?
Great question
Nice of them to answer it
How did they fuck that one up?! Great question mate...
How do you get all of your post-match videos done so quickly and to the quality that they are?
We edit in the car as we leave the ground and as soon as we've got internet we start uploading!
Dedication is on point.
Shit. Good job.
If you could choose one former LFC-player to host your show from now on. Who would it be and why?
CHRIS- Carra. hero and he's actually good.
PAUL- Suarez. Think of the views.... Haha!
Love your work! What's Hendo like in person?
He was sound ya know. When we played him on FIFA he'd been there for an hour or two filming an ad with EA sports then we had to sit through a match of him playing Spencer Owen before it was our turn so we thought that by the time we got to play him he wouldn't be in the mood but he was a good laugh. That was one of my favourite memories of doing this so far tbh. I loved the fact he was just a normal bloke what's mad as well is that Lallana was just sat waiting for him as they car share so we got to talk to him for a while as well and he was sound too! (Chris)
If you could chose between 13/14 Sturridge in-form or Mane as he is now, who would you pick in the starting XI?
We have been sat here for 5 minutes trying to work out an answer to this one! Haha! For me it's Sturridge, but if Mane continues to play like this all season (or, fingers crossed, even better), then yeah, that is basically impossible!! (PAUL)
Which player do you have the most contact with?
Hey. First of all I love your shows and long time website subscriber. Im wondering if their are any plans to expand the website into a podcast form for easy download and on the go listening.
hashtag pajakin
Absolutely mate. Yeah there are plans in the pipeline for audio only versions of the subscribers shows. Should help save your mobile data! (Paul)
awsome to hear! thanks for doing this ama by the way.
What do you guys make of the goalkeeper situation? Karius or Mignolet?
Karius. He's not even had 10 games for us. We know what Mignolet can do. Give the new lad a chance (chris)
Hi Redmen TV, thanks for taking some time and doing this.
If you would play for Liverpool and could score against any team, which team would you score against?
CHRIS - MAN UNITED. PAUL - MAN UNITED (at Old Trafford)
How would you celebrate?
PAUL _ Michael Owen monkey flip. CHRIS - Like Neville did against us!
Where is the studio located (looks great) and how does one commission a Rushie stained glass window ?
We're not far from Liverpool Airport. Unfortunately the Rushie stained glass is a one off mate (i think the photoshop file is on an old computer somewhere). :) (Paul)
What's your view on foreign fans/OOTs?
CHRIS - before we started all this I probably had poor view of them but I was totally wrong; I'd never spout off or anything, but ya know, I was ill informed and had an opinion that was based on other peoples opinions. Liverpool fans are Liverpool fans. It takes a certain type of person to fall in love with this club and I respect that. Also, as an NFL fan from England I'm kind of on the other side of the fence! haha
I've always said, that if you want to support a football club that only has fans from within the city it's based, then you can... They're called Everton. Haha! (Paul)
Thanks for the reply :) I'm a red from Norway. The few times I've been in Liverpool the locals were always nice to talk to. I've read on some forums some locals having issues with foreign fans, so that's why I asked. I just hope LFC will expand Anfield Road End, and lower the prices for locals/season ticket holders.
Follow-up question if you read it: I'd love to see LFC following the German model with cheaper tickets and fans ownership. Do you think it is realistically possible to achieve this?
What's you favorite LFC moment?
I love the mixed zone videos you did in America, it is at all possible to do any of them for cup or prem games?
And is Adam McKola as much of a bellend in real life as he seems on YouTube?
The access during pre-season is, shall we say, a bit more relaxed, haha! I'd love to do more of them, but i think the Premier League would cut our balls off.
Adam is actually quite sound. He's weirdly glass half full, I always said he has the wrong mentality to support United. (Paul)
Ah that's a shame to hear, don't get to see more of Chris pulling off Hendo's arm.
Look, I appreciate you're doing this AMA but you need to answer questions truthfully.
Scouts honour mate. He has shit taste in footy teams but he's a sound lad. (Paul)
What other fan channel do you watch? (Personally I like watching Arsenal fans having a meltdown on Arsenalfantv)
Any thoughts on safe standing?
You may have already addressed this but what happened to your fantasy football challenge episodes? They were always fantastic!
Will Lucas ever score????
Thanks for doing this! Your show is great!! What do you enjoy most about your job? Is it the inside scope/proximity to the club, or doing something you truly enjoy? Also, do you guys have other jobs or is "The RedmenTV" your only mode of income?
Who are your favourite non-lfc players?
I love watching Aguero, Suarez, (obviously), Pirlo, Gio Dos Santos, Sanchez, Lahm, Dembele, Bale (off the top of my head) (CHRIS)
I'm certainly caught off guard here.
Pff, he's only saying that because of LA Galaxy
Big fan and been subscribing for about 2 years. 3 questions from me:
You guys seem to have a studio with toffeetv and ball street (and others?). How does that work, do you all own it together? Also are you guys just contributors, part owners, or paid by ball street?
Do you guys still have day jobs?
I remember (Chris, I think) referencing this Reddit sub once (to my knowledge, the mega Benteke post about why he was an alround striker). How much do you lurk (or contribute?) here?
Absolutely love the stuff you put out, even when you go off on a tangent not about football it's great.
Any chance of another series of Championship manager? Genuinely got excited when that popped up in my subscription box.
Who came up with the Aubrey with mask turning into Heskey joke? That was brilliant.
Can you have a word with someone to get international breaks banned? I don't mind the summer tournaments, they don't really get in the way but just stopping mid season takes the piss.
Cheers mate. There are plans in the pipeline for another series but it's all about time. Paul writes it all amongst other things so once he's got his head round it we'll start to get in going.
I actually came up with the Aubrey mask joke though (i don't normally get involved in that side of things so Im made up you asked that question!) haha
yeah the mid season breaks need to get to fuck. (Chris)
Why did you stop doing fan reactions after each game?
Probably that annoying woman who was basically stalking them.
Do you guys think the atmosphere within Anfield has got better with the mainstand? Do you think there is still room for improving the atmosphere and if so, how do you think that could be best achieved?
Submitted by u/pandacatcat
Cheers, Fel! :)
Favourite kit?
What's the most significant LFC game you witnessed in person
Hi lads, big fan of your content. Met you both several times after the EL home matches last year and some of the PL and League Cup games this season (I'm the one who won that compo you ran a couple of years ago with the Sierra Leone shirt). I watch everything of yours religiously haha, top stuff.
Anyway, what would you say was the biggest challenge you faced in the early years? I found some of your early stuff on your site and to see how you've progressed since then is amazing. Did you ever think you might not get the support/viewers you've ended up with?
First off, thanks for watching. It was a bit of a mad one in the beginning. We started putting the vids up on YT and then decided that if we really wanted to keep doing this the only way forward was to start the website. I think we had 5k subs on YT at the time and we were confident that people would pay £2 a month, oh how wrong we were! I took out a personal loan and paid for the website and we had about 100 people sign up in the first couple of months and we started shitting ourselves! It's grown slowly ever since but we're in a position now that we can do this ( not comfortable but happy, Paul likes to say we don't have to buy Tesco value beans anymore but we're defo not on Heinz!)
It's taken a long time but generally I'd say most LFC fans do seem ok with us (which is nice).and we've built a huge audience on some social media platforms. Much bigger than I ever expected. (Chris)
You guys really are awesome. You keep the pulse going for all of us abroad. Can't wait to do a post match reaction at Anfield some day!
How's your relationship with Neil and the boys at TAW?
What's up with your sound levels on your videos?
Edit: maybe I should be more precise and say the ones where multiple people are talking like the match build ups.
Blame Tom. (Paul)
How did you guys get started as a channel?
Do you record in the same building as the Toffee TV boys?
Which club is is the biggest threat to take the PL title according to you?
Our next 7 games are all against sides we "should" beat; does any of those sides stand out as a particularly tricky fixture to you?
Favourite restaurant in Town?
Mowgli, Miyagis and Salt House Tapas not that I get chance to eat out now with two little ones! (Chris)
Bias aside, how do you rate this current Liverpool amongst the world's best based on this season alone?
I personally think we are a Top 10 team in the world, how bout you guys?
What's the first match you ever went to and what do you remember of it?
Are we winning the league this season then?
maybe ;-)
Alright Redmen, I want you to make a 5 a side team for the 08/09 team, 13/14 team, and 16/17 team. Now, these three teams you made play each other in a little tourney, which wins?
Now make your ultimate 5 a side team using players from those 3 years of LFC players!
I love shit like this -
08/09 Reina Mascherano Gerrard Alonso Torres
13/14 Mignolet Gerrard Henderson Suarez Sturridge
16/17 Karius Matip Lallana Coutinho Firmino
I think 08/09 wins but it's pretty fucking close
ultimate team
Reina (08/09) Mascherano (08/09) Gerrard (08/09) Lallana (16/17) Suarez (13/14)
Nice teams! Interesting that you chose Henderson> Coutinho or sterling from that season. All three were great, but feel C and S would be a bit more effective in 5aside
Hey guys, love what you do,
You obviously have a large national and international following. So since starting the channel, how has , if any, your opinion changed of LFC fans from outside Liverpool.
Whats your earliest good Liverpool memory?
Jurgen Klopp na na na na, Yeh or nay? I'll admit i think the guy deserves a better song.
EDIT: also that Champ Manager series you did was great.
Do LFC have the best chance of winning the title out of all the other teams in the Premier League?
If Liverpool make it to the CL next season, where do we need more depth?
Would you have Steven Gerrard back in a coaching role at Melwood or Kirkby?
When will we finally get Pajak nudes?
probably when i'm next pissed on camera.
How do you sum up supporting Liverpool in three words?
I miss Aubrey... You guys ever reckon that he might come back? Reason I bring this up is because you each resemble a different type of supporter, whether it be emotional, social, tactical, etc. Aubrey was always the level headed one who had a great tactical perspective to the footy by not getting too carried away by emotions (not that he didn't). Feel like you guys have been missing that type of outlook since he left.
Don't get me wrong though, still love the show and the regular episodes. Keep it up!
Thanks mate, I'm proper chuffed with this comment!
Any chance that Aubrey makes some guest appearances ?
Also love the new additions to your team, especially Lewis.
Another unrelated question: I wanted to subscribe with PayPal but i get an error since my account is not linked to a credit card but my bank account. Any chance i could just charge up my paypal and get a one time yearly subscribtion.
I just want to give you my money
Aubrey is defo making guest appearances when he's back from London!
Just email me chris@theredmentv.com and I'll let ya know your options! Cheers!!!
I'll definitely pop up on an Xmas show at some point and poss some more games as the season progresses. Just keep me away from the couch/Anfield/end of season "when" we win the league!
Favourite foreign player to wear the shirt?
Miss you, lads! Can't wait to go back to Liverpool! Was a pleasure meeting you there.
Any chance you can send me the video of me being interwied after Liverpool x Newcastle 2 seasons ago?
Kind regards,
Pedro.
Best left footed player to ever play for LFC?
Favourite premier league player not at LFC currently?
How is life as youtubers? Do you have some sort of "regular" working hours, fixed salary etc?
Damn im always late to these things, my question is of all the ex-players ye've met, who seemed to understand the whole online/podcast/youtube media scene when you explained what ye do?
What guest have you been most excited to bring onto the show?
Just started watching your videos recently. Love the content. You guys put out a lot of it. Am I allowed to ask about the business model? How do you get money without ads? Do you have "real" jobs and just do redmen out of love for LFC?
Hey guys, do you follow any other sports than football?
How does it feel to look back on how far your channel has come and was the work worth it?
Hi guys, long time fan, love all your work! Do you lads have day jobs or are you able to live off the RedMenTV channel and website?
What do you make of the Sakho situation? I would love to see him stay at Liverpool, but he has clearly done enough behind closed doors to never play for the club again, which is a pity because he is one of our better players!
For those interested in getting into sports journalism, would you recommend it? It seems difficult to make meaningful content without pandering to clickbait headlines, etc. Thank you for your time!
Where were you on the night of May 25, 2005?
What was it like way back when when you got your first "Hi, I'm -ex-player- and you're watching The Redmen TV?" (and who was it!)?
What's your honest opinion on foreign fans? I'm a wool (as you'd say haha) and I admit that we are one of the reasons for the heavy commercialization and vice versa.
I mean, most of us don't have a proper reason to support Liverpool (like a parent supporting Liverpool, or being from there etc) and we just pick a team cos we feel a connection to it. So surely we pick it well. We end up staying late at nights skipping sleep just to watch a game. That is serious commitment. But on the other hand, most of us end up supporting the 'big' clubs and truth be told, that doesn't really sound nice.
So is there a bit of resentment (or a weaker term) towards us or are we just as good as the rest of Liverpool fans acc to you?
What would u change in the team at present, if anything, to get us to win the premier league?
Next summer's transfer window: three players out and three players in. Give us your choices boys!
Seems I was late to the party. For the sake of discussion, anyone feel free to respond!
Hi lads love the show!
What are the origins of RedmenTV? Like where did it all start and why did you decide to pursue delivering Liverpool FC news?
Who has been your favorite player to work with on the show so far?
Have you had many experiences with Norwegian fans in and around Anfield? And if so, what is your impression of us?
What are your stories in beginning to support lfc and when/how did you decide to make a profession out of it?
Can we get Chris to sing you'll never walk alone in a mankini if we win the league?
Could Stevie be a squad player this season?
Is Neymar giving hints on joining Liverpool ?
Can you guys come decorate my mancave?
Can I ever catch an Ama live goddamnit
Foreign fans: who's the best??
we're famous!
Not a question, just saying a late "thank you" for all your content. As a fan that came over alongside Klopp from BvB, your channel really helped me catch up with LFC and understand the club on a level similar to Dortmund.
Are we going to win the league?
maybe
If Liverpool fc didn't exist. Which team would you support?
Everton to be honest. (Chris)
If food didn't exist, what would you eat?
Hey guys - thanks for putting this together. Couple Q's:
Favorite player, current or former, you've interviewed?
Favorite season?
Academy player most likely to crack, and stay, in the squad (not including kev stew, he's a full blown squad member now)
If you could've said anything to any of the Chelsea players, what would you've said as they walked past you in the tunnel in the States?
How long do you predict Klopp will stay? And what do you think our team will be like once he leaves?
do you guys like cricket?
