NBA 2K25
I hope there’s no change. I already shoot 55%. If they change it I’ll never miss and I don’t want that.
People complain about 2k being the same game but want the same shit.
Once you buff shooting I guarantee the game will die within a month just like every other 2k. This game is the most balanced 2k that has ever come out it’s great. Once you listen to the cry baby’s the game will be ruined and even they won’t play anymore.
For all the whining, crying and bitching about the shooting in 2K25, I think 99% of you have completely forgotten something. Many of you claim that 2K16 was the ‘greatest’ 2K of all time. However, have you forgotten how 2K16’s shooting model was. Whites could fall, and GREENS COULD MISS. Doesn’t that sound…RNG?

“The visual cue doesn't move around in different spots in the animation. the ideal release point is always at the same point in the animation based on the cue you choose.
The "problem" with shooting is a lot of people are just expecting to have the same success this year as they did in 2K24. but one of the main goals for 2K25 was to bring 3PT%'s down to earth which is why green windows are much tighter by design. The reason why we want 3PT%'s to be closer to NBA averages is because we believe it results in better basketball. It makes more builds viable, encourages more variety in scoring, etc. When 3PT%'s start to hover around 60-70% on average, it makes no sense to ever attempt a 2. So the animation fluctuation that Labs posted today was put in place to combat zens, obviously, but we also thought it was justified because it increases the skill gap with shooting. A good user who's able to key their release off the jumper's visual cue, when the time from the button press to that visual cue point is dynamic, should be able to outperform a zen user.”
If a player is struggling with shooting you punish them with a worse ability to shoot? I could understand sending them to their gym to practice the cold zone - say shoot 25 baskets or something from the cold zone. But as is the cold zones are too punishing. It makes me not even wanna play MyCareer. Who is with me?
I got players getting mad at me cuz we’re struggling to score points. Crazy thing though, I’m consistently setting the offense up for open looks or at the very minimum light pressure contests at the rim. Buckets just aren’t falling. That’s fine though. Offense is harder in this game and ur gonna struggle a lil bit. What’s annoying is why scapegoat the PG?
U can have around 10 AST(which should ideally be a lot more if a lot of the open shots being put up would go in), but you’ll still get blamed. They end up passing it to the wing who has no passing sense and no idea how to run an offense, and is less efficient than you.
Just finished a game where the frontcourt players got mad at me, yet I was playing good basketball. I set the center up for like all 3 or 4 of his open 3 pt attempts, he knocked down just 1 of em, which was a white. Bro stopped passing me the ball before he quit. Then the PF wants to call the SG who’s going 2/8 our “real Pg,” and encourages our other teammates to not give me the ball, but then criticizes the guy right after the game is done.
I love playing point and setting my teammates up, even if they miss. I just wanna play good basketball overall, but y’all make it so hard bruh
I've played 2k since they came to be, and i find the gameplay in this one the best.
Also i can already see people stop spamming 3's and starting to pass more and think more, so maybe 2k did something really good with the shooting this year.
The only thing i think they need to fix, is the srealing in REC.
If you've seen any inside bigs that know how to play the post this year, it's pretty obvious that post control and close shot are way more effective than last year.
Drop steps, post spins/drives, up and unders and fades are all pretty strong and basically uncontestable if you get a mismatch. Coupled with the fact that post control and close shot are a lot cheaper for bigs in the builder this year and shooting is harder overall, you have a way better environment for inside bigs to play their game.
Personally, I've been having a lot of fun working the post on my big. Trying to figure out what combination of moves works best for a given situation, hitting the open man if I draw a double or get a bad animation and learning how to guard the post effectively myself.
I really hope 2k doesn't nerf post play again this year. Post moves definitely feel strong right now but I just don't think the player base is used to countering it yet. A lot of bigs don't know how to guard post moves and it shows.
If you want to underinvest in interior D or strength as a big, or jump at everything, that's fine but your team is going to either need to send a double, or get cooked.
In 2k’s new update they made the proving grounds 1v1’s opponents match your position and as a pg I was happy with so I stopped facing post scorers who were 7’1 until I realised that everyone is now running a post scorer that’s 6’7 at the pg position. Way to ruin a good update 2k community
2K Labs conducted a test where he uses a script to get the same timing on every shot to test the green window. From his “findings” he has come to conclusion that there is no proof of a green window and that it actually changes timing every shot.
What is completely left out and not mentioned is how 2K Labs pump fakes before every jump shot in order for the script to work. Which if you didn’t know actually decreases your chances of making a jumpshot and can change shot timing. This is stated by 2K themselves. This is quite literally the reason why he’s seeing skewed green timings in his results.
And I know everyone is anti Mike Wang right now but he has stated time and time again that there is a green window. Saying he’s lying just because you’re mad doesn’t change the fact. It is smaller this year the same way it was the beginning of 2K24 before the community cried and forced the devs to buff it (sound familiar?)
Does 2K do a piss poor job at explaining themselves and their product? Yes, but people rather listen to a flawed test than the actual devs themselves telling you facts. The 2K Labs test is not an accurate representation of anything. All this has done is cause false confirmation bias to the people who hate the shooting.
I dont know where 2K got this idea to make shooting wide open in a video game harder for me to shoot wide open IRL.
Im tired of seeing my teammates brick wide open 3 after wide open 3 with their 90+ 3 balls. IM TIRED OF HAVING TO STICK MY FACE INTO MY MONITOR JUST TO BE 50/50. IM TIRED of seeing the defense get away with leaving people wide open and just spamming square on passing lanes because noone can shoot.
SHOOTING WIDE OPEN SHOULD NOT BE THE BIGGEST SKILL GAP IN THE GAME. FIX THE DAMN CONTEST SYSTEM AND MAKE PEOPLE DEFEND IF YALL WANT "REALISTIC" PERCENTAGES. STOP MAKING SOMETHING SO SIMPLE SO COMPLICATED FOR NO FKING REASON.

Why does 2K invest all their time and effort trying to make Basketball Runescape but then the game itself is so hard and annoying to play by yourself?? Why do I need to find a squad to run with to have any chance of finding consistent games? Am I doing something wrong or what?
It STILL takes way too long to find games in the park courts. Like these are real people I’m running by right?? Why is there so much standing around? Why does everyone play musical chairs? Just get on the spot and let’s play.
Rec is even more annoying. It legit takes me 25+ minutes to get a full 5-man team for Rec every single time I try to play. And half the time the game fucks up anyways and I get stuck on the loading screen and have to restart the game. Yesterday I drove to the 24-Hour Fitness 2 miles from me, parked, went in, filled my water bottle, peed, walked to the gym area, and got into a b-ball game with strangers in less time than it takes for me to get into a virtual game of b-ball on a FUCKIN VIDEO GAME. I don’t CARE about seeing everyone warming up and lining up in a random locker room. Just put me in the fucking game.
I want to like this mode but every year it just annoys me to no end trying to even find games to play. I don’t have all day to wander around Basketballtopia looking for chances to play the game I paid for. This happens every year. And it looks like it’s already done me in this year too. So it’s back to just playing MyNBA and Play Now Online yet again. Or maybe I’ll just delete this shit and use the 150GB on other games idk. Jesus fuckin Christ 2k get rid of the City add actual matchmaking like every single other online sports game.
When you hop on the mycourt normally it's way easier to green because it's offline. To change that all you gotta do is press L1+R1 to invite a player then click someone on your friends list and press "connect to server". This puts you online so that your shots have the same latency as online games. Don't worry, this doesn't send any invite to the person you clicked on.
Trash how the phones don’t even show you who’s online anymore. All I see is every person online, even when my friends are on the game it won’t show up.
They took out the option last year to look at the previous game, for some unknown reason also. Why is 2k intent on making the phone feature worse every year.
