Andrey Rublev is going to obnubilate Nadal

As the thunderous applause finally draws to a close in the New York auditorium, the sentiment is crystal clear - Andrey Rublev truly is a man of many talents. After all, few people would have guessed that the 19 year old would make such an accomplished speaker. And what better way to utilise his rhetoric talents than by joining Dolgopolov's heartfelt campaign to end match-fixing in tennis. Evidently, many feel that it's high time for the ATP authorities to start pulling their socks up on this issue. Not as high as Alexander Zverev obviously - but they don't need to be told that.

Oratory eloquence aside, Rublev has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most fiery prospects on tour. Astounding conquests over Tristan Lamasine and James McGee this season have truly given a new meaning to the term 'double-take', whilst Uncle Toni had to order Nadal an emergency oxygen tank to treat his asthma attack following Rublev's demolition of Goffin yesterday. Indeed, so severe was the attack that Nadal had to keep the tank strapped to his back during his attendance at the player's gala in Manhattan last night.

And, with the exception of Andy Murray's last-minute withdrawal, the stars were certainly all out for this integral event in the tennis calendar. The art display was a sure-fire success, with a sculpture of Stepanek as Michelangelo's 'David' proving to be a major hit and Genie Bouchard's photography exhibition: 'evolution of the selfie' garnering much criticial acclaim. Interviewer Margaret Court had all the backstage gossip of the night, cosplaying Ellen Degeneres, whilst Thanasi Kokkinakis generously helped out in the kitchen, cooking up some delicious Bangers and mash. Elsewhere, Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy were cosying up all night in the couple's corner - later to be joined by Maria Sharapova and Lance Armstrong.

Meanwhile, ticket prices for Sunday's final are reaching titanic levels right now, with people reportedly selling their cars, mortgaging their homes and emptying their savings accounts in the hope of grabbing a seat on Arthur Ashe to see Anderson lift the trophy this weekend. It will be bittersweet of course, without the commanding presence of former Delray Beach finalist Donald Young on the other side of the net - they'll just have to hope he makes an appearance at Anderson's after-party to follow.

There’s nothing quite like a championship tiebreak! Nice work from Hubi after serving so well all tournament. Three championship points saved by Rublev.
