Adobe Animate
For months, my 14yo son Jake has been drawing a new comic on his bedroom door whiteboard each night. I started taking pics with my phone to archive them here on Reddit and IG (@jakes_door_comics). People seem to like them, hope you enjoy!
I've been stuck between which one to choose. I've heard good and bad things about both. For reference, I'm an independent artist. I'd like to make my own web series and start my own independent studio. (It's just me of course for now.) Also each web series has a different style from one another.
I heard Adobe would be better for independent artist, but I hear the software crashes a lot and is hard to work with.
I heard toon boom is great but it's really expensive and is not easy to learn.
At one point in my life I might end up using both but I'd like to know which one would be the best choice for me to choose right now.

I'm looking for an artist who can create a scrolling scene with a vehicles driving through it. It will need a foreground, middle-ground, and background. I'm looking for more of a retro style, pixel art, and or arcade style. I can and will provide more information in DM's if anyone is interested?

I'm 18, but I've been using Animate/flash for 5 or so years so I'm pretty comfortable in the software. I was mainly inspired by all the flash animated cartoons I used to watch when I was younger, but looking at cartoons now I've noticed that most cartoons use Toon Boom Harmony. I'm sure there are some cartoons that still use Animate, but it feels like Toon Boom Harmony is becoming more prevalent in the industry. I just worry that by the time I try to get into the industry, Adobe Animate won't be used and my experience in the software will be pretty much useless. I'm curious as to what the ratio of Toon Boom animated shows to Adobe Animate animated shows are, and if Animate will ever fall out of being considered 'industry standard'. By the way, I'm specifically talking about 2D puppet animation, not frame by frame

Hi everyone, In a couple of weeks I'll be asked to test for an animation position with adobe animate.
I clarified in my application that I'm a Harmony user and I don't actually know this software, but they didn't seem to mind.
I'm currently preparing for another test so I won't have time to actually sit down and learn the program for a bit... let's say I have just about 1 week to learn it.
Do you think I could do it just with online resources? I have looked at a few YouTube demos and I'm not sure what to make of it.
Edit: to be clear, I'm talking about cut-out/puppet animation!
