  • Everton that.

  • Time to break out the grief chart.

  • Doucoure on for Ndiaye in the 83' up 2-0. We fall apart. Ndiaye IS the rose-tinted remembrance of what James was. Highly creative player with an actual semblance of work rate.

  • Whoever advised Keane to opt for defense over striker needs to be banned from the sport.

LaMelo bests Miller for most potential. Now who has the most wasted potential in Hornets history?

no injury excuses like with Adam Morrison

lol, these are categories of his wikipedia page

  • All-Rookie honors (2012–2013)

  • Leg injuries (2013–2015)

  • Injury-plagued season and career-highs (2015–2017)

  • Final years in Charlotte (2017–2020)

That 4th year '15-'16 season was the final nail in his coffin. Right when it seemed like he could be turning the corner to be some sort of threat on offense ... separated shoulder in the preseason. Still, four months later, in the 7 games he returned, he averaged 13 points and made 3 3Ps (as many as he had in his first 195 games) ... then he needed another surgery on his torn labrum and it was all over for his shot.

Time to break out the chart

If you had to build a rough roadmap to get to 40 points, I think it'd look something like these buckets?

Hope to take 6 POINTS from 3 teams (+18 PTS total) (HOME win, AWAY win)

  • Leicester City, Ipswich Town, Southampton

Hope to take 4 POINTS from 4 teams (+16 PTS total) (HOME win, AWAY draw)

  • Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton, Fulham, Brentwood

Hope to take 2 POINTS from 3 teams (+6 PTS total) (HOME draw, AWAY draw)

  • Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, West Ham

No expectations (HOME loss, AWAY loss)

  • Brighton, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Manchester United, Newcastle, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City

Teams are debatable, but ordered based on some initial betting odds

Everton have picked up 29 pts in Michael Keane's last 38 Premier League starts (7 W - 8 D - 23 L).

He actually wasn't terrible today, but it's borderline hilarious how inept the team is whenever he starts.

In his last full season's worth of starts, dating back to late 2021, we've failed to reach 30 points.

Final Standing

He just used whatever betting over/unders were available at the time. Here's a Forbes article from around that same time that basically has the same numbers as he used.

Note: It's wild how much of a bump France was expected to get (24.5 golds). They'd won 11/10/10 gold medals in the last 3 summer Olympics. They ended these games with 16 golds (-8.5 under the mark) even with Leon Marchand winning 4 golds himself in swimming.

Olympics Over/Under Final Standings

imeanYOLOright
commented

Should the boys do a tiebreaker?

If you look at how close their picks were, both correct and incorrect, Geoff and Andrew are still dead even.

Correct Picks: 28.5 golds off in total for each

Incorrect Picks: 26.0 golds off in total for each

If you go by percentage variance, Geoff slightly squeaks it out by being "more right" (18.8% vs 18.0%) and "less wrong" (26.0% vs 28.0%) with his gold variance vs. the original over/under.

They should just pull a 2020 high jump and share the gold ... or run the randomizer 24 times and let fortune decide.

Edit: Rethought my logic. It's real close.

Never in doubt 😅.

In all honesty, hopefully them narrowly squeaking this out doesn't glaze over the fact that this needs to be a wakeup call a la the '04 Olympics bronze for the men's team ... or maybe the '23 World Cup for the women's soccer team in terms of coaching and a changing of the guard.

[Woj] Free agent guard Seth Curry has agreed on a one-year deal to return to the Charlotte Hornets, sources tell ESPN

One more two-way slot, assuming Leaky Black is still on one along with KJ Simpson.

Has anyone said anything about whether Reggie Jackson is actually going to be on the team, though? That may open up a roster spot if they waive him.

Turner’s comments on Berhalter. “I see no issue with the direction we are heading”.

I guess you can just say fuck it and begin starting Slonina, but pretty much all of Turner's peers like Horvath and Steffen have shown they aren't it.

Like Dempsey said, these quotes mean nothing.

A player would have to be out of their minds to publicly complain about the manager.

Blame Berhalter. Blame Weah. Blame the refs.

Take your pick. It doesn’t matter. Totally unacceptable tournament all around. If we repeat this performance two summers from now, it’ll be a short cameo at the World Cup.
