When Walt and Gus have the £3m for 3 months agreement there is a bit of tension when Gus reveals to Walt he knows he was lying about Gale setting them back when Hank is in the hospital.
Walt also meets with Gus to tell him he knows he called the hit on Hank and that he respected the strategy.
Then Walt eats with Gus and Gus gives him advice “never make the same mistake twice” in the context of learning how to be rich and at this point has already offered to extend their agreement to £15m for 12 months.
We later know or it’s implied that Gus is grooming Gale to takeover from Walt, but this is following Gus and Walt’s relationship souring.
So my question is that, given before all that Gale was working with Walt, was Gus’ intention always to kill Walt eventually and have Gale takeover or would things have played out differently had Walt kept a good relationship with Gus?
He knew Walt was dying anyway but would he ever have let him walk away.
