Andrew Wiggins has made more FGs in his career than Jimmy Butler

I just came across this stat on BasketballReference and was really surprised. Wiggins made 2867 FGs (on 6510 attemps) and Butler has 2862 FGs (on 6308 attemps). Of course Butler still has more total points because of his superior free throw and 3pt shooting.

Somehow this blew my mind as Butler has been an All-Star several times and is the better player by far, whereas Wiggins still feels kinda „new“ to the NBA and has been struggling to improve his game.

Some analysis of Andrew in the last 10 games

  • 2P% - 50% (this should be higher)

  • 3p% - 38.5%. (This is great)

  • Defensive FG% (15+ feet from basket) - 29%. This is absolutely amazing

  • Defensive FG% (10 feet or less) - 70%. (This is terrible but check out everyone else. Also terrible. This means we have really bad paint defense overall and it’s hitting everyone’s numbers)

Wiggins was always the quiet scorer. He be kinda invisible the whole game but then you look at the box score and he has 20 points. That’s just how he’s always been. So being erratic with his mins and who he plays with is gonna affect him and it already has. He’s gonna waste away by how we are playing him. So either he or Kuminga should be traded to stabilize the position.
