My family from Sweden is visiting next month. Any restaurant recs for the best Swedish/Scandinavian food in the area? Don't mind if the food is heavily Americanized.

I just moved out here from Chicago. I've gone to a few different McDonalds for a sausage mcmuffin.

Every time they have given me egg and sausage mcmuffin and charged me for one.

I've gone to about 3 different locations.

Do sausage mcmuffins not exist out here? Or is McDonalds just upcharging me and hope I don't notice?

Today I made sure to specify sausage. Mcmuffin.

Still got the egg.

I know this a very small trivial problem in today's world but I just wanted to know if anyone else has noticed this?

I won't be going anymore after this trip. Just wondering!

What would you pick if you wanted to splurge and have your dream “cheat meal� from your favorite places in nova?

Best friend is unexpectedly coming to town tomorrow for her birthday and I want to get her a few cupcakes. I live in old town and don’t have a car so I would need somewhere that’s walkable and can walk in and just pick up as I’m not sure if there’s enough time to place a special order between now and tomorrow afternoon. Given our household has unfortunately become a one income household, we are looking to tighten our belts. We have enough wiggle room however to stock up and store in the deep freezer for sales but I have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to sales

All this to say: what are the cheapest prices you have paid in the last year for individual items? I used to live by never buying chicken if it was more than $1.50 but that feels like it may never be back. What are your bargain deals for eggs, meat of any kind, veggies, etc?

Edit: please include prices! I shop the sales but would love to have a more specific list of when to stock up.

I went to meat project in centreville and tried the intestine and it is so good. Where can I get this at a reasonable quantity, I do not want to go to all you can eat.

I'm looking for a butcher/store that sells good quality beef in the area. Arlington/Falls Church and surrounding areas.

I have family visiting this weekend and would love to find a place that offers cuts like Picanha, short ribs, and perhaps something slightly leaner.

I'm honestly not holding my breath for this, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of good delivery Chinese food restaurants near Annandale/West Alexandria. I'm thinking delicious General Tso's Chicken. We used to live near a good place in Falls Church but everything here seems to be Korean and a tiny bit Thai.

hi folks, have been craving naengmyeon (korean cold noodles). is there any place that specializes in them that's good? nearby fairfax/chantilly would be great, but willing to drive out ~20 min. if there aren't any specialty stores, then whatever's your next best rec would be great. no kbbq places though please, as it doesn't seem like it's the move to walk into a kbbq place to only buy naengmyeon and leave. just a personal hangup of mine.

As a west coast vato from the OC stuck here in the NOVA and missing carne asada fries to a point of making my own when the craving arises, I have finally found a place that has some D’lish carne asada fries that remind me of the west coast. Eli’s Taqueria on ColUmbia pike is now my weekly food menu. I haven’t had anything else on their menu but if you want some west coast carne asada fries, this is the place🤙��🤙�

Anyone have a good recommendation for Chinese Food? I live in Loudoun County. We used to get Big Bowl in Reston Town Center years ago. I liked that a lot and really miss it.

Everywhere else has just been meh. I feel like all the same. Mediocre food that is all cooked in the same oil, some of it undercooked, and served in big styrofoam squares.

I’m looking for really good Chinese food served in those boxes you always see in movies when people are eating Chinese.

My SNAP card came in the mail some weeks ago and I threw it out without thinking while it was still in its envelope. They always send them discreetly of course. So it’s probably totaled in the landfill somewhere and I need to get a replacement.

I’ve called the state EBT customer line to no avail. It won’t let me speak to a human unless I know the card number and clearly I don’t.

Then I’ve been calling DFS and it takes forever to get through.

So now my only idea is to go in person to the office.

What should I do?

I lived near the Ballston metro station jn 2005-2007, and there used to be a solid Mexican restaurant around there (near the mall?). It has closed since I think. Anyone remember the name?

I haven’t lived here very long so I don’t know what’s something to give my friend in Japan as a gift. What are some food items that are unique to Virginia? Or any good coffee shops that sell their own grounds?
