Nuggets took 6 free throws tonight. Just the third time in NBA history a team has won a playoff game with 6 or fewer FTA, per @Stathead.

The Lakers' free-throw differential of +507 is so large it's twice the size of the next-highest team.

That edge is carrying LeBron and company this season.

It had always been said that 32 is the magic number for the number of teams in a league. 16 per conference and 4 teams on 4 divisions.

With talks regarding NBA expansion, Las Vegas and Seattle seems to be the front runners on getting a new team so that makes it 32 teams.

But with talks on Mexico City getting an NBA team, it would seem advantageous on a league perspective to open a new market with a huge population.

There are even a lot of small market teams in the NBA with low attendance and might benefit on relocating and maximize profits and reach.

If we talk about distance, a Miami to Portland flight is around 5 hours and 45 minutes which is a possibly the longest coast to coast flight. A Boston to Mexico City is similarly around 5 hours and 40minutes which is probably the longest north to south flight. So distance is not a big factor based on precedence.

Hypothetically if this would happen, which team do you think would best relocate to Mexico City and why?

Has anyone ever done astrology for sports championships? Someone I follow on TikTok used the natal chart of the team to figure out their championship odds for the SupeBowl. I was wondering if people have done this in the past especially with NBA playoffs starting.

One day, Lebron James wakes up as an average korean high schooler. Let's say he is now 6'2 (Just to make things a little fair), of average build, and of average physical ability.

He attends a standard high school that has a basketball team, but has no knowledge of the language. He has all his previous basketball IQ, has all his usual skills, but lacks the physical ability to perform athletic dunks, although he can still train.

Can he make it to the NBA before graduating college, and if so, how well will he be able to perform?

Round 1. Has the financial resources to transfer to an American school whenever he wants. Doesn't need to be a starter,

Round 2. Can't transfer to a school abroad. Has to be a starter on the team in 1-2 years.

Chicago Bulls' Joakim Noah wins his first and what would be his only Defensive Player of the Year. Noah wins it pretty easily over Roy Hibbert and DeAndre Jordan.

In the first game of the playoffs for both teams, the Wizards handle the Bulls. Ironically, Joakim Noah allows his man Nene to put up 24/8/3 on 11/17 shooting. Bradley Beal and John Wall both shot poorly, but when the Bulls' leading scorer was Kirk Hinrich, they weren't winning many games.

The Blazers end up winning this one 122-120 over Harden's Rockets. LaMarcus Aldridge fouled out with 46/18/2 and 2 blocks, Dame had 31/9/5, and Harden and Dwight Howard had 27 each.

April 22, 2014:

Coach Pop wins his 3rd coach of the year, and rightfully so. Some consider that 2013-14 Spurs team as one of the best of all time. According to one commenter, the Spurs won 62 games without a single player averaging over 30 minutes per game.

Craig Sager, a long-time sideline reporter and analyst for the NBA, had recently been diagnosed with leukemia and the entire NBA was rallying around him. Sager would beat his leukemia, but it came back in 2016 and Sager would eventually pass away.

In the Thunder's first playoff game against the Grizzlies, Russ shows why he was once in the debate for the best point guard in the league (even if the dunk happened after the whistle).

April 23, 2014:

Suns' Goran Dragic won Most Improved Player after jumping from 15/3/7 on poor efficiency to 20/3/6 on 50/40/76 efficiency. Interesting to note that one commenter talked about how crazy it was that second year Anthony Davis was 3rd. Obviously, 7ish years later, Ja would win it as a second-year player.

A 30-piece for DeRozan and some quality play off the bench by Patrick Patterson and Greivis Vasquez lead the way for the Raptors to win this one. Nets' Paul Pierce puts up 7 on 2/11 shooting.

After the Grizzlies won the second game of their series against the Thunder to even up the series, Courtney Lee let's the public in on the gameplan. Russ had gone for 29 on 11/28 shooting that game, whereas KD had 36 on 12/28. The Thunder would eventually win the series, but Russ continued to shoot it poorly.

April 24, 2014:

Carmelo Anthony is not the worst comparison a player can have out of college, but Jabari Parker ended up with Carmelo Anthony's mindset and about a quarter of his skill.

Dame Lillard puts up 18/8/11 and LaMarcus Aldridge gives the Blazers 43/8/1 to take a 2-0 lead over the Rockets. Dwight Howard puts up 32/14 and 4 blocks and Harden puts up 18/3/4 on bad efficiency and 5 turnovers.

This is a cool animation of a four-point play that Durant had just hit over the Grizzlies. If you've watched a ton of highlight compilations on YouTube, you have likely seen this play dozens of times.

April 25, 2014:

1. -

I think people here forget that Russ was pretty hated by this sub even before the Lakers days. Still, Russ probably should have passed this ball to who I think is Serge Ibaka on the block. Russ and the Thunder lost this game to the Grizzlies and the Grizzlies had a 2-1 lead for the series.

A classic Inside the NBA segment that I somehow had never seen before. It's hard to describe, just watch the clip.

The 8th seeded Hawks beat the 1st seeded Pacers. The Hawks actually took a 2-1 series lead over the Pacers here, but the Pacers would end up winning in 7. In this game, Jeff Teague put up 20/10 and Kyle Korver ends with 20/6 and 4 threes. Somehow Roy Hibbert puts up 4 points and 2 rebounds in 18 minutes. Really, aside from Lance Stephenson and David West, no one on the Pacers played particularly well.

April 26, 2014:

Maybe the most egregious scandal the NBA has produced in the last few decades. As a result of Donald Sterling's racism, he was banned from the NBA for life and fined 2.5 million dollars.

Probably the most ironic thing possible in this scenario. Donald Sterling had apparently been giving the Los Angeles NAACP some money and they were going to honor him. According to a CBS article, the head of the LA NAACP actually resigned as a result of this.

In more uplifting news (or olds technically), the Houston Rockets bring the series a little closer in game 3. James Harden gives Houston 37/9/6 to go along with Dwight Howard's 24 and 18. The Blazers best performers were Lillard (30/6/6), Batum (26/9/5, 3 STL), and Aldridge (23/10/3, 3 BLK). Mo Williams also gives the Blazers 17/4/4 off the bench.

April 27, 2014:

The Warriors tie up the series at 2-a-piece. Curry puts up 33/7/7 and Iggy shows up with 22/4/9. DeAndre Jordan plays 25 minutes of basketball and takes one shot (he missed it). With the Donald Sterling news, most of the NBA world was probably rooting for this young Warriors team.
