How do I prevent my star employee from leaving after upper management gave her a headache of a week? How do I prevent my star employee from leaving after upper management gave her a headache of a week?
Companies

At my company (EU) we have a "probation system" where an employee is required to work for 3 months to demonstrate their competency before being confirmed as a full employee (thus giving them full benefits).

My employee, S, was stellar and from the first month was contributing a ton and produced excellent work and is loved by everyone on my team.

I've been trying to get her an early confirmation of her probation before 3 months to recognise this though this was rejected by upper management for reasons.

Long story short, the 3 month mark comes and days before, upper management changes the entire way probation employees are assessed, even applying it to her (unfair I know), and making it so that her probation would be needed to extended by another 3 months.

She was devastated when hearing this since it's not her fault or performance at all.

I've fought for her and 4 days later we finally got her confirmed!

Unfortunately, she said her faith in the company is gone since she can't even trust the company to deliver a proper, steady probation experience and is already job hunting and interviewing with competitors who are offering her a higher salary and position....

Is there anything I can do to get her to stay?
