NBA

Let's replace the SEC with the NBA. Way better oversigt.
r/Superstonk

A place for theoretical discussions about GameStop stock ($GME). Opinions and memes welcome. The "DumbMoney" crypto coin with the symbol "$GME" is a suspected scam and has nothing to do with GameStop stock. None of this is financial advice.

What's an NBA moment that feels fake, but isn't?

Malachi Flynn scoring 50 this year is one of the wildest examples for me. But as for some more examples:

- Damian Lillard's 5 pts 4 ast 18 reb game

- The Fort Wayne Pistons won the 1950 finals 19-18 by playing keep away (no shot clock)

- Kyle Korver got traded for a copy machine

- Ricky Davis tried to get a triple double by throwing the ball off his own backboard

[Wojnarowski] The league found that prior to the Raptors’ March 20 game, Jontay Porter gave confidential information about his own health status to an NBA bettor. Another NBA bettor Porter associated with made an $80,000 parlay proposition bet with an online sportsbook, winning $1.1 million.

The NBA had a gambling simulcast of the PLAY-IN game

The NBA had a gambling simulcast of the PLAY-IN game

Not even a playoff game, let alone Finals. The fact there was a betting simulcast of the NBA play-in game featuring John Henson, and two random white guys (Lefkoe and Tim Doyle) on TruTV blew my mind. You know how big of a gambling addict you have to be to watch a BetCast of the NBA Play-In game to hear John Henson's analysis? Instead of having the lines/spreads on the bottom, it should just be a banner for 1-800-GAMBLER.

How long has this been a thing? Feels like just yesterday ESPN got comfortable showing lines in their banner during broadcasts and NFL announcers actually addressed gambling spreads. I get it gambling is a huge business but if you told me this would be the future of live sports coverage 10 years ago, I would've never believed you.
