Thanks, I finally have my in universe head canon for the Yeager class.

The Federation just slapped together whatever leftover parts they had to build a decoy ship. When the Dominion rolled in they Yeager would draw them away. It didn't need front torpedoes because it was always running.

And if it got destroyed, eh.

tornado risk very high but my home has windows in every room and no basement or shelter nearby

We are in the same boat. During a tornado a couple months ago we went to the hallway, closed the doors, and covered up with couch cushions. Not ideal, but it was the best we could do.

Aside from some cracked windows, most of the house damage was on the outside (roof, siding) so we got lucky there. Our trees didn't fare so well.

I had a high school teacher who looked foreign but had no noticeable accent, except for when she said the word "sheet". We were completely confused on the first day of school when she told us we were going to need a "shit of paper".

My first thought was that she left out the word "ton".
