TIL in 2010, a 16-year-old Canadian discovered that his two parents were actually not Canadian, but KGB spies living under fake names Donald and Tracey.

Yea that ending is tough. Not in a bad ending way, just heartbreaking

Do you have a comment discussing the VP choices? I'd be interested to hear your opinion. The MN sub is up in arms about losing Walz because of his popularity here, but realistically he's being pushed more progressive by the Senate and house in state. But he's and incredible speaker (that social studies teacher experience shining) and his press briefings during the early stages of COVID were comforting.

He also responded to people not wanted to wear masks with "Wear a mask so you can vote me out in a few years"

My in laws have 2 St Bernards. They had a shark robo vac, mid level model, and had to upgrade to top of the line to keep up. The mid level was good enough, but the better model does a better job apparently. But we got the mid level and for a couple with no kids or dogs it's great

Honestly, is there a harder time than the couple work days before you're gone for a long vacation?

My dad had a 1992 Camry he bought new. Sold it after he had it for 24 years to a neighbor kid that just got his license. Driver's side door didn't have the full handle because it broke when he opened the door one cold day, and while the car was maroon, the hood had gotten sun bleached almost white. But it still drove perfectly fine at 300K+ miles and he was sad to see it go.

His first new car he bought was an 80s manual Tercel and he cried the day he sold that

My wife is a cooker, not a baker. But she bakes one thing and does it well: cheesecake. She's been bringing cheesecake to gathering for 6ish years at this point.

You know what's never been said? Why is there cheesecake again.

Also her mom is infamous for Greek salad. She's tried to bring something different and if she does, everyone is disappointed she didn't bring Greek salad. Playing the hits isn't a bad thing.

How Brainerd’s New Ice Machine Exposes Community Apathy and Decline

At this point, Brainerd/Baxter is essentially just another suburb for tourists to stock up in before hitting the cabin.

My wife mentioned something about millennials having darker/nihilistic senses of humor than GenZ or alpha. My immediate response was, yea, probably has something to do with watching two planes fly into some buildings in elementary/middle school.

I mean, I know someone that worked in the AD while Harbaugh was there and he wasn't well loved by the people that had to deal with him. Mostly because this is just how he is and when your trying to explain why a student can't play because of his academic record, and Harbaugh is speaking in weird metaphors and similes, it's kind of difficult

Full beard. Haven't shaved since the end of no shave November in 2012, though I regularly keep it trimmed so it's not very long

The last 9 days have been a little too insane in American politics. But given the reception Kamala has gotten has made me a bit more optimistic for the back half of this year. Still concerned though.
