Perspectives on Anarchist Theory is published by the Institute for Anarchist Studies. Each issue includes essays by IAS-supported writers, feature articles with anarchist views on contemporary events, book reviews, and updates about IAS activities. Perspectives is both a print and an online journal, with new essays continually posted on this website. Check back often for new content. The print edition comes out annually, and is available from AK Press here!
Perspectives is edited and produced by a collective that includes Paul Messersmith-Glavin, Lara Messersmith-Glavin, Theresa Warburton, and Hillary Lazar, with Javier Castro, Sam Smith, and Kristian Williams acting as Second Readers/Editors.
Themes
Each issue of Perspectives is organized around a theme. Some recent themes include Power, Imaginations, Anarcha-Feminisms, Beyond the Crisis, Strategy, and Care. The current issue is called Transformations (N. 33). Perspectives mission is to help organizers develop the ability to write and to support the voices of those historically excluded. Perspectives members will assist you in your writing.
Book Reviews
Perspectives editors are always on the lookout for book reviewers, so please get in touch if there is a title you are interested in examining; however, keep in mind that Perspectives prefers to publish comparative book reviews dealing with two or three titles. At least one book in your review should be forthcoming or have appeared within the last year. In most cases, the editorial collective can acquire a review copy for forthcoming and new books for the reviewer.
