What do you call a white sheep in a family of black sheep?

In swedish we have a concept called Dandelion-kids.

Basically how a dandelion can grow anywhere and even push through asphalt, these are kids who grow up in the worst posible circumstances. Their parents are abusive, drug addicts, religious fundies, extremely poor etc. yet somehow they beat the odds and turn into responsible well adjusted genuinely good kids. Often ending up in a parentified role trying to keep their home functional and trying to protect siblings from the misery they live in.

The reason these kids have gotten more attention lately it because as strong and functional as they are, they need help and support from society. They too carry trauma and other mental health issues but it tends to be overlooked because society tends to focus resources on their dysfunctional black sheep families.

I converted to the Church and was active for a few years before falling away. Would you mind if I ask about a topic I asked the missionaries about that never was adequately explained to me?

I feel like they would have gotten bored eventually. I don't know how long they spent before being tempted but I don't think humans are able to just be blissfully unaware forever. That one tree would bug them more and more until one of them decided to go for it.

Toddler got a bruise in daycare, am i under reacting?

Accidents happen and as long as your kid isn't seriously injured its fine. No need to go full defcon every time something happens.

I would however ask that the preschool install door frame covers to prevent this from happening. At least where I live no preschool or daycare has uncovered door hinges.

Yeah we shifted from an economy where kids are necessary for generating income to one where working long hours away from home is necessary for generating income.

This is the end results to this. We now get kids because we want to, not because we have to.

4 month old crawling????

This is fully normal. The instinct to be mobile is super strong. My son was constantly in a bad mood when he was on the floor because he couldn't figure out how to move the way he wanted. He looked very much like this.

At five months he was doing full on planks. (Standing on toes and hands with the whole body off the floor) and then one day at about 6 months he cracked the code, managed to line up all the movements the right way for the first time and crawled!

His whole disposision changed immediately! From being an angry frustrated baby he was a ray of sunshine zooming around the apartment exploring every nook and cranny! He then walked at around 11 months and never looked back.

Basically this is super normal. Never try to hold back your baby when she is developing a new skill. Keeop her safe but always allow her to grow! There is no reason to try to slow her down.

Man I really disliked the Jaffa nation at the end of the show

And being a warrior class they easily fell into military structures of governance.
