I think part of it is also the home builder. Our house is newer than we thought we would look at, and after looking at some actual new constructions we noticed a huge quality difference. The realtor explained that the builder we ended up buying had 50 years of local building and had a great reputation. House was built pre-Covid and the neighborhood had specific standards in place before building. The covid era homes were being built by a national builder, there were fewer floorplan options, even less material choices for countertops, cabinets, tiles. Some friends just moved into one near where we were looking and already are complaining about things.

My mom has had the same Honda for like 15 years. I just bought my first new car (been driving my same used car since I was 18), and it was the same model Honda as hers.

I honestly think a measure of taste isn’t the car, it’s how we take care of it.

And, I’ve come to the realization that if I’m gonna be talking about it all week, it’s probably best that I understand what I’m saying.
