What little things absolutely infuriate you?

What kind of stuff are you writing? I write pretty much all science and math papers, so LaTeX is pretty much necessary. I don't mind playing around with the images for a little while since the end result is worth it. LaTeX can be a bitch to use, but it does put out beautiful documents.

Dude, are you serious? Working with images in LaTeX is 10000x harder than MS Word.

I imagine you had a lot of off time in those two months (or not?)....what did you and the other pilots do when not flying a mission?

Fuck this noise. Can't do it anymore. No more arbitrary dates in the future, no more "this is my last one" and no more excuses - I quit.

This being the #1 article on Reddit right now is a great example of how Reddit is turning into absolute and utter shit.

Growing up, my big brother and I were best friends. After growing apart, he left this for me when he went away to college.

I'm sorry if it takes a note on the internet for you to remember the times you've had with your brother.

I don't think I'll ever fathom how people are comfortable with sharing really personal stuff like this on the internet for everyone to see. You can keep some stuff to yourself, you know.

To be honest, I don't want to read this note, I don't think I should be reading this note, and most of all I don't think you should be sharing this note.

I found a brand new Iphone on the floor outside a nightclub in the early hours of the morning and I kept it...

Umm...congrats I guess? This post completely defies your philosophy, you want us to pat you on the back for something you think everyone should do.

I'm tired of the bad rep that stoners get.

MasterChiefer 3 points4 points 2 months ago[-]

Hate to break it to you, but communities like r/trees just perpetuate the "stoner" reputation. The only way weed will be accepted into this world is when it is not looked at as a person-defining feature. And honestly, r/trees is not doing anything to help this. You guys are just further sanctioning yourself from the world, and it is hurting the campaign for marijuana legalization and/or decriminalization.

Day 3 without a cigarette. PLEASE tell me that this is going to get better!

This post gave me chills.

Mmmm...sweet sweet jury nullification. It tastes so good.

I'm pretty sure the creators of this map were trying to show that it IS realistic (in their heads), even though we know it is not.

Surfacе area required to power the whole world by solar power

MasterChiefer 31 points32 points 4 months ago[-]

I've seen this before and it is extremely stupid. It is not using an accurate projection of the world map, the one it is using is called the Mercator projection (I believe), which distorts the area/size of larger objects. And guess what - the whole point of this map is to show the proper surface area needed! I wish the person who made this map did a few minutes of research first.

Here's more on world map projections: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Map_projection http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_map

Reddit, lets do something good. Stop drinking bottled water.

You hit the nail on the head. That is why I use bottled water as well, out of pure convenience.

Also I hate when people act like you are a bad person for using bottled water. Most people do things that are much worse for our environment.

I'm building something similar. From what I've read, 8GB of RAM will be a waste and most programs/games won't use more than 4GB.

OMFG. SO MUCH WIN.

Have you done any work or research on number theory? I've always found that stuff to be fascinating. Right now I'm working on a little research project (I'm an undergrad physics/math major) involving perfect numbers and the Goldbach conjecture.
