A difference I've seen in my region over the years is that I see way more younger cops. Most of them are definitely in good shape. I know there are middle aged and older cops, but it just seems I barely see them. It felt like growing up there were way more, and they were way more out of shape.

Maybe someone here knows. A difference is the OPP has taken over many municipal forces. Does the OPP have stricter fitness requirements?

I'd never deny that I hope it improves people's perception of me. But, the primary reason I keep in shape is still for my physical and mental health. And ya, I do believe that should be important to people.

I think it's more the "work with your hands" part than the earnings. Smart people know how much trades people can make. People just look down on certain types of jobs. I know, I'm in the same situation. People just assume I'm not intelligent or interesting based on my job, and because of the standards they have set for what's successful in their mind. I would never get along with people who think like this anyway, so whatever.

It's posted on here almost daily, so I'd say yes.

But ya, I'm.your age and I gave up awhile back. I'm just enjoying my hobbies and living the best I can.

Plus putting it on social media can do way more harm than good anyway. There's someone out there who's only going to comment to try to make you feel bad. Most normal people just won't react to the post. But there are some horrible people out there who just dwell on that crap.
