A few cross sectioned .45 bullets by mkillebrewin guns

[–]XrayZach 1 point2 points ago

Ha, because people are fucking stupid, I'm surprised it doesn't say you shouldn't eat the bullets too. The warning on Hornady's website says, "Disclaimer: Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on…ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that's not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean…ZOMBIES!" Maybe I'm just overly cautious or concerned about nothing but I could see some anti-gun lawyer using that against someone who used this ammo in a self defense shooting.

So on the box of zombie max ammo it says something like "not for human targets, use only on zombies" and it made me wonder if you were to use that for ccw ammo and went to court after a shooting, do you think the prosecution would/could use that against you? I thought about buying some when I saw that it was the same as critical defense but cheaper, but then I had that thought.

Ralphie: Oooh fuuudge!

Ralphie as Adult: [narrating] Only I didn't say "Fudge." I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word!

Mr. Parker: [stunned] What did you say?

Ralphie: Uh, um...

Mr. Parker: That's... what I thought you said. Get in the car. Go on!

Ralphie as Adult: [narrating] It was all over - I was dead. What would it be? The guillotine? Hanging? The chair? The rack? The Chinese water torture? Hmmph. Mere child's play compared to what surely awaited me.

Alright thanks, I have been thinking about getting a crossbreed style holster for awhile now. I like the adjustable ride height on this one.

Range report LC9 by st_samplesin Firearms

[–]XrayZach 2 points3 points ago

It took me forever to adjust to that trigger. It's about 12 miles long and 900 pounds. After LOTS of dry fire and about 500 rounds or so I started getting decent groups at 7 and 15 yards. Staging the trigger helps a lot, if you watch the hammer it will be flush with the top of the frame just before it breaks. It's an accurate little gun if you can get over the DA trigger from hell.

Slug gun maybe? I know a few turkey hunters around my area that use scopes, with an extra full choke it is practical, but I agree scoped shotguns still look kinda odd.

DAE believe Coke (or any other soft drink) always tastes better when you drink it out of a glass bottle? by Shrub74in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]XrayZach 1 point2 points ago

Very possible, but you can still buy them here. Coke, Dr Pepper and Mountain Dew are the three I see the most at pretty much every gas station.

They still sell glass bottles of coke in the US.

It certainly does, that's why the NRA and the SAF file lawsuits against states with excessive restrictions on firearms, because those restrictions are unconstitutional. Which begs the question of where do you draw the line or can you ever draw a line on what type of firearm a citizen can own (which I think was your point). I certainly don't want citizens owning nukes, but I don't really want governments owning them either if it was my decision. You will have to ask someone smarter than me for an answer to that one I guess, sorry.

IIRC the 9th amendment basically says that there are other rights that are not listed. It would be impossible to list everything people are entitled to or allowed to do/own.

Does anyone own a CZ shotgun? If so, how do you like it? by BucketOfLampShadesin guns

[–]XrayZach 1 point2 points ago*

I have a CZ/Huglu over-under, woodcock deluxe, 12 gauge. Love everything about the gun. Fit and finish are beautiful and it swings and points great. Never had an issue with anything on the gun and have probably put around a thousand shells through it. I don't know anything about their semi autos but I love the double gun.

Carried concealed for the first time today (GA, USA) by stephen_jin CCW

Yea I never really liked tucked in t-shirts either, but I found it helped so much that its pretty much how I go out now. A lot of the time I will tuck in my under shirt over my holster and wear a light button shirt untucked over the top. I think the appendix carry has some advantages in concealment, ease of draw and when sitting down the gun doesn't stab you in the ass. One more reason I'm an advocate of the tuckable style and then I promise I will shut up about it; I'm pretty tall (6'3") and so a lot of shirts are a little short for me, when reaching up for a high shelf or whatever you don't have to worry about your gun hanging out if you are tucked. And finally just remember that you are not doing anything wrong, you have a legal right to carry a gun and are not breaking any laws doing so. Sometimes when you are just starting it feels like you are just one wrong step away from being arrested because you have a gun in public, that's not the case, you are in the right.

It's probably not as noticeable as you think it is. You know it's there and so your brain says everyone else does too. I've been carrying for a year or so now and am convinced most people wouldn't notice if you concealed your gun under a white 'wife beater.' You can try carrying small of back, it's pretty easy to make things disappear there but I'm not a big fan of that position personally. Most of the time I carry AIWB with a DeSantis soft tuck and my LC9, cheap holster but works great. It's tuckable and I have found that this really helps concealment. Tuck in your shirt over the holster and then pull your shirt up just a bit so it's a little loose in the area around the gun and abra-cadabra, it magically vanishes. Are you wearing the gun around the house? Many people advocate home carry as something you should be doing anyways (but that's a different topic) it will help you get use to the feel of having a gun on you and let you learn how to move without showing off the gun in a safe environment where nobody will call the cops. Carrying around the house at least while you are new to ccw will improve you confidence in your ability to conceal.

I cannot tell you how much I love this new update, it is amazing. I have been using it most of the day and am starting to get use to the new gestures and features. I have no real complaints, the only thing i would possibly change is to shrink the left column a bit and give more space to the right column. Absolutely wonderful job, thank you so much. Honestly I feel like I should of had to pay for this update, it's a ten fold improvement over the last version, which I loved too.

Certainly, if you can't or won't use the gun if the time comes it serves no purpose to carry it.

Yes clothing is absolutly a factor. I originally was going to mention it but when I wrote this letter it was to my brother (who lives in the same state and climate as me, hot in summer and frozen in winter) so I left it out. Guess I should have added it when posting here to people from all over. Cheers

Looking for an AIWB for Sig 238 by Krystal907in CCW

[–]XrayZach 0 points1 point ago

If you are looking for a custom leather IWB holster I would suggest looking at www.holsterpro.com, he has a couple IWB holsters on there. I ordered one for my Glock 22 and love it, it is my favorite holster I have for any gun. He does really good work and priced pretty reasonably for a custom made holster. He has a few videos on YouTube showing off his work. Only downside is it probably took 6 weeks to get it so if you are in a hurry it probably won't work. For a cheaper, faster option I have a Desantis soft tuck for my LC9 I got from www.midway.com, it has an adjustable cant and is tuckable if you like to carry that way. Midway had my order on my doorstep in like 3 days.

It just depends on the place. I actually had a dealership tell me to take a truck home for the night and see if I still liked it in the morning. I lived thirty minutes away and they still said that was fine, I thought that was strange and a bit to trusting of a stranger, but hey I ended up buying the truck from them so I guess it works.
