With Rondo announcing his retirement, I’ll own that I practiced the fake behind the back pass to a lay up so much as a kid, and when I got it, no one would ever bite on the behind the back pass but I still did it almost as muscle memory.

I do love CP3’s fake bounce pass, spring back dribble he’d pull out. I promise I don’t just love fake passes.

The Dirk turnaround jumper is maybe the most un blockable shot in basketball.

LOCKS OF THE DAY NBA DFS 4/2

They need to revert this reddit update. Break even day for me, hope you guys had a good night. Tomorrows slate is going to be very overwhelming with the amount of possible phenomenal plays we could have. I mean there is like 4 teams with potential absolute smashes on it if injury news goes a certain way. going to be a crazy one.

If discord is something you are interested in, Will have a link below where i have in-depth content going over each slate, player pools for cash/gpps. cores and much more.

Devin Booker All-NBA Team

Don't look now but Book is 4 games away from reaching the All-NBA threshold for games played (65). He currently sits at 61 with 7 games left.

Season averages:

27/5/7 on 50/37/88 shooting splits

Which All-NBA team do you see Booker making assuming he plays 4 out of the 7 remaining games? Will the Suns low seed impact him?

I personally think he'll have a strong case for All-NBA 2nd Team

I did a couple of these late last year, now with around half a year having passed and many new members having joined the subreddit, including some quite prolific ones, I thought I should do it again.

As many of you already know, I'm a sports historian specializing primarily in the integration era of basketball and earlier. My book, The Birth of the Modern NBA: Pro Basketball in the Year of the Merger, 1949–50, is slated for publication late this spring and can be pre-ordered right now through the previous link or on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Target.

We haven't pinpointed an official publication date just yet, but it's on the publisher's spring list and has just been handed off to the production department. The dates listed on the affiliates' websites are placeholders. The page count is too, my understanding is it will end up around 380 pages or so.

Other large-scale recent and current projects include:

  • A book on the 1950–51 season (covering both NBA and NPBL)

  • A book biographizing pre-NBA stars (aiming for 2026 publication for at least one if not both books)

  • The selection of the Horace Fogel National Professional Basketball Champions, retrospective awards for world champions for every pre-NBA season (finished but not yet published)

  • The selection of the Fred Cooper National Professional Basketball Players of the Year, retrospective awards for MVP for every pre-NBA season (finished but not yet published)

  • The creation of the EEAM metric, a statistical era-adjustment methodology that takes into account not just pace of play but also stylistic changes and the evolution of substitution patterns (complete)

Here I'm providing a place to ask any questions you might have that are relevant to the book and/or my other research.

  • Hachimura is averaging 15.8 points and 4.7 rebounds on a stellar 58.5 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from 3 over that span in the last 25 games.

  • He's second on the Lakers behind Anthony Davis in box outs per game.

  • Opponents are shooting 4.4 percent worse than expected at the rim when he is the primary defender.
