Send me this kind of message and I sure as hell won't tip you. by TwinFox2186 in doordash

I’ve asked this of the customer support before when the same dasher twice dropped half of my drinks during delivery. When I ask him how this happened, he just shrugged and said it’s the restaurant’s fault. Anyway, since this happened twice, I complained about this to support but he still gets my delivery once in a while.

If they did, it’s quiet easy to find someone’s full name as listed on the website. Especially given he knew where you worked. The geolocation/smartphone tracking responses in the comments are possible but seem complex and random which I believe was unlikely scenario.

You could do this exercise yourself if you are curious. Type in where you work in LinkedIn. Check out people section of your company page. If you find your lead in top few hits, you take the name of your lead from there and search insta. And if you find the account, that’s how the dasher did it too.

Should I report/inform HR or let it go? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]lazypro189 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I hate to be that person but I think you should just let it go here. If it were one specific person you were complaining against and if you had more people complaining about them, going to HR would’ve been the right move. In this case, HR is likely to see you as being the problem even if they don’t say it right away. Had something similar happen to a friend while she was in an extremely toxic team for the few months she was there.

I believe they had some partnership with Volvo. Don’t know if that alone can keep them afloat.

Yes! After school and college. Hopefully, not including friends from work.

While working extra hours seems like an obvious logical solution, it could cause horrible burnout for programmers especially if their mental health is in a bad place.

I’ve been this exact position multiple times. Was a SWE and was let go three times in last 6 years. I lasted in my last SWE job for a grand total of 4 months. So what did I do? I transitioned into a Product Management role. Almost a year in and I love it.

Got a rejection email…during my interview? by Worth-Investment-436 in careeradvice

Most of the other comments seem like good jokes. But 7-8 rounds of overall interviews are common reality in Software Development roles. The average number dropped during pandemic hiring boom in the industry but it seems like it’s climbing back up.

This is true for most employees up until C-level executives. They receive RSUs, options and vested stocks together in most situations (with the board choosing the percent split). This gives rise to the wiggle room on tax evasion that’s being discussed. In addition there are several banking instruments to take on the unexercised options in your stead and give out a line of credit until the stock price hits a threshold. This method is quite common amongst late stage startup CEOs who get compensated heftily in stock options.
