As someone from western canada, people here get angry with Telus and move to Shaw. Then they get angry and move back to Telus.

Its like the telecom cartels have carved up their areas of operation quite well.

The only way conservatives will win the next election is if Pierre Poilievre becomes leader.

So you're telling me our only saving grace from investors in Ontario scooping up homes and driving up prices here is our messed up insurance industry? Talk about unintended consequences.

And yes one of the main questions insurance brokers here ask you is if you intend on leaving the property vacant or unoccupied for X number of days or longer. Never knew it had this heavy of an impact on premiums. Great post, OP.

Next to nothing. The city is disproportionately on the hook for maintenance while the lions share of the revenue go to the flames owners.

If polls are to be believed, we may be electing a candidate with <50% of the vote (The highest atm is at 35% ± 7%). This means whoever wins our riding will have win without a majority of us voting for them.

First Past The Post needs to be replaced.

100% agree with you. CBC especially the news can be dominated by issues that can feel unrelated. Sure, people in Toronto/Vancouver and vicinity are informed, and sure, as many have pointed here, 50-60% of the country's population live in those areas, but for the rest of us it breeds the feeling of alienation.

Which is really sad because a lot of their content is amazing, like CBC Marketplace.

GTA has a population of 6 million, and GVA has a population of 3 million. Together, that's less than a quarter of Canada's population of 37m.

EDIT: Again, no idea why I'm getting downvoted. I merely put in the population of both those regions to prove most people don't live there, as /u/VisionsDB claims.
