Mark Rosewater on Blogatog: "It depends if the name is property specific, but yes we can print some Universes Beyond cards as is. Obviously, it would need to have in-universe Magic art."

There are 12 mono-red demons, 7 in universe, 5 ub so definitely a higher percentage, but it wouldn’t be weird to reprint in a normal plane.

Modern Horizon 3 - Overperformers

Malevolent rumble is great in anything that wants to fill the graveyard. It’s basically one mana, bin 3 or 4, and get something decent off the top. Just built a mimeoplasm deck and put it straight in.

Was playing a game with someone who had a prosper deck(shocking) and had an extra glimpse in my bag I gave him. He read through it twice, nodded, and put it in his deck box to swap for later.

Won a game with talon gates when someone tried to draw off an empty library with lab man out. They were tapped out with no way to draw an additional card. Couldn’t fierce guardianship or force of negation it either. Weird ending.

I agree with this. I play it in a one shot izzet deck and have definitely won off of it, but it should be thought more of a 3 colorless mana [[fork]] rather than a value piece.

Help me tune this deck

1003mistakes
commented

The first thing I would do is organize your deck in moxfield using tags and then create tags for each type of piece: ramp, draw, engine, payoff, removal, finisher, etc. that way you have a firm number on your ratios.

Also, if you’re running into the problem of not getting the cards you need I’d look at the amount of low mana draw that you have. Do you have cards that will gain you card advantage early if you need it? Also, it could be just the nature of drawing hands. I’d think about how often you use your free mulligan to get a better hand.

Not 100% sure on exacts, but pretty sure they buffed her ap ratios on q heal and removed lethality ratio. Also increased ult shield ap ratio. Build is super strong right now if you have damage elsewhere on the team because she just tickles. It also scales really hard but is weaker early imo, though that seemed irrelevant this game.

Fun lands sacrifice/landfall commander suggestions needed

1003mistakes
commented

[[meren]] aristocrats with land animation like [[kormus bell]]. Then things like [[shirei]] and [[world shaper]] to get them back. Some blood artist and landfall effects. [[yedora]] to go crazy. Meren will create a lot of experience counters quickly so you can make sure to keep getting your enabler creatures out and then maybe pull a couple big things out of the graveyard if you want.

Good etb in boomer abzan modern

It’s not an etb and the cost may be prohibitive, but [[ocelot pride]] can go a bit crazy with it.

Can you help identify this couch? Found at an estate sale. Only words on it are the attached tag which I couldn’t find anything online searching for a combination of the words. It’s more green than it seems in the picture imo. Appreciate any help!

AITA for calling my Dad stupid after being told to use a "paper towel" for swimming on my period?

Same. I was trying to figure out if I’m dumb for not knowing about the third vagina hole.

Weirdly enough I think having this many characters makes some of the balancing between pro and casual easier. You don’t NEED to balance ksante and azir for solo queue because you have 160 other options to choose from.

Even then, they still work to do it and it is impressive to me how tight they can keep champ win rates

Any scary monster decks that people don't hate?

I used to have a $25 He Who Hungers decks for a budget tournament some friends and I did years back and my deck was so bad. I tried building it as opponent discard tribal with soulshift spirits and there was little support for it at the time(still born for soul shift) so often times both me and the opponent would just be sitting at zero cards staring at each other too decking while I have just crappy spirits hanging around.

If I were to do it again I’d focus more on self mill and do graveyard things if I’m doing the soul shift thing or lean into tokens more(just checked and black spirit token generators are no better now). Probably do a stronger reanimator package to force discard of good creatures and then reanimate them.

I’d keep an eye out for the new set coming out next. It’s horror themed and I’d assume we will see some cool legends from it. Also, if you want low power but creepy some of the old Kamigawa spirit legendaries hit that note for me. Most of them are bad but look pretty creepy.

If I had a nickel for every time WOTC made a Legendary Bant Scientist card, in a UB product, that did graveyard stuff and represented 2 characters, I'd have 2 nickels — which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
