Wierd position in chess
Makes me think of a position I just seen in a book but with reversed colors.
Chigorin vs Tinsley, London 1899, move 31 .a4, but in your case it's ...b4.
The chapter is about positional play. You got him completely locked down and you can start pushing pawns to help in the attack and prepare a potential game ending combination.

How did you get out of a platou
So many things that come to mind;
-Understand ups and downs in learning. If you keep working, The worst you from today will never be as bad as the worst you from yesterday.
-Making sure you have a healthy body/mind.
-Reviewing your games and focusing on your weaknesses. (which phase of the game, and whether you struggle more on strategy or tactics)
-Buying chess books (I loved ''The Soviet Chess Primer'') and working fully on it.
-Getting a chess coach.
-Lots of puzzles to get familiar and recognize some patterns. Think 'em through PROPERLY*. Take 1 hour if you have to before making the first moves. You must understand the ideas in a position in order to find the first move.*
-Youtube videos for opening, you can find free ''masterclasses'' that are pretty good for beginners (I love ''Hanging Pawns''). Or even YT videos of chess book reviews.
-Going to a chess club, playing and talking to stronger players.
-Taking a break.
Last one is a tip I got from The Soviet Chess Primer. I used to look for sacrifices and crazy mating attacks way too much, in the book It says : ''A combination has to be sound,'' Lasker once wrote, ''otherwise it is just an attempt, a blunder, a delusion; put more simply it is senseless.''

Do chess pieces have their own, unique names in your language?
Damn it is different here where I live. In Québec the ''Queen'' is ''Reine'' and the Knight is the ''Cheval'' :O

''Bishop'' in French is a ''Fou''. Direct translation would be ''Jester'' or ''Madman''
Everything else is a direct translation except Castle somehow being ''Roque'' which means nothing in French.
(name taken from the Persian word for Chariot, same origin as the English work for Rook).
So in French you got; ''Long Roque'' and ''Petit Roque'' for ''Castle Short'' and ''Castle Long''
as well as ''Fou'' for the ''Bishop''
