Right. That's what I said, that it's probably less than a TB of storage for all of them. I was saying people download 100GB games and 4K BD remuxes these days, so 2,000 episodes in SD is equal to only about a dozen games or high-res movies.

If someone says, "all the Star Wars movies are available to download as 4K remuxes," nobody goes, "IDK if that's true; that seems like it'd take up a lot of storage." so it's silly to apply that same logic here when it's probably around the same amount of storage.

Storage is cheap. There are folks that have servers with hundreds of TBs. If you're buying large capacity drives it's about $15/TB. The entire series is probably less than a TB if it's SD, so with that perspective in mind, a fan could have a complete run of the show for about what they paid for the "Best of" DVD 20 years ago. And of course some folks will just want certain episodes as well.

People download video games and 4K movie remuxes that are 100GB each, so 200 episodes of a show equaling the same amount is pretty reasonable in comparison.

What source are you able to find that verifies the commentaries were different? Because I remember the Reddit post you referenced and remember discussing it further (I was trying to help with the archiving) and OP said they might have been mistaken and they could have been the same as the DVDs all along.
