How much does it matter whether you use Mann/Frau vs Ehemann/Ehefrau for "husband" and "wife"?

To me, Ehemann/frau seems more formal and old-fashioned. I don’t use the term for my spouse. Both are correct though, and will be understood. There’s also Ehegatte and Ehegattin, or Gatte and Gattin for short. You probably won’t find those used in the wild though, unless you find yourself among the 60+ old money crowd.

I do love that they portrait Cristina as a woman who likes children, just doesn’t want any of her own. She even says that if she were to have a child, she’d naturally love them. She’s the fun aunt for Meredith’s kids, she’s very involved but just chooses not to have her own. A lot of childfree women in TV or film are depicted as some sort of kid hating monster.

The Rebecca/Sam thing. I didn’t mind that they connected on the app and then went along with the dinner. But the subsequent relationship had too much of a power imbalance for me. A BAB like Rebecca would keep it more professional, I think!
