If Balon Greyjoy gave you command of his Invasion what would you do to make sure it succeeds? (SPOILERS EXTENDED)

Yeah! This is the move. Nice one. Still not sure where it would get them but capturing the “stark boys” even if it’s a farce, then taking a few more hostages from their liege lords would have given them some bargaining chips. Not sure what the iron islands wanted though

Reading throught this it’s so hard to pick one. There was some insane celebrity guests. It reads off like a list of people at a Tracy Jordan party. Isabella Rossellini, Buck Henry, the entire cast of night court!

Great question! While both brooding, gothic, and dark in both tone and stylistically the main difference between BTAS and Gargoyles in my opinion is the Gargoyles themselves. You may notice, while watching BTAS a serious lack of any gargoyles, while in the show gargoyles a keen eye may notice many gargoyle characters. In BTAS a novice viewer may think “hey there is a gargoyle lurking on that tower” however 99% that would be Batman and not an actually gargoyle.

He’s gonna need super powers. I can suspend my disbelief for wizards, time travel, and mark ruffalo turning down Scarlett Johansson but I gotta draw the line at a normal guy fighting red hulk.

Great observation! Yes absolutely, the gargoyle to non-gargoyle ratio is way off, but not just for the show gargoyles. I think this is across the board. Take Seinfeld, for example, lasted a hit 9 seasons with an all non-gargoyle cast, think about how long they would have kept it going with just one gargoyle character. Think of all the shenanigans and hijinks involving Jerry and the gang would have gotten into with at least one gargoyle?!

That’s a keen eye! Most don’t notice the serious lack of gargoyle in Recess. A less observant viewer may be fooled by the likes of miss finster and of course the ghoulish Randal but they share almost none of the gargoyle qualities the gargoyles have in the show gargoyles.

The main thing about the show gargoyles that, in my opinion, that really stands out from not only Disney cartooons but most, if not all other cartoons were the gargoyles themselves. You may notice that in gargoyles there were many gargoyles that came to life at night, however if you think about it most other shows had little to no gargoyles. The mighty ducks? Zero gargoyles. Captain Bucky O’Hare and the Toad Wars? Again no gargoyles. Now you may think, wait Might Max, Mighty Max had a gargoyle. While there may have been one gargoyle in one episode of Mighty Max if you really do your research you’ll notice in gargoyles there were many gargoyles, not just the one. In fact all the main characters in gargoyles were gargoyles which really sets gargoyles apart from all other cartoons, even shows that may have featured just one gargoyle… gargoyles was also really dark in tone and visually like just the color palette was totally different from the bright, optimistic Disney cartoons. But mostly it’s the gargoyles.

Are there other liberal voters who loves Critical Drinker?

janstantangelo

I think a lot of my views would be considered liberal by people in this thread. I think it’s super corny when movies heavily focus on very thinly vailed allegories of our current political situation to pander. I also think it’s obvious big corporate movies and series have sacrificed quality story for “the message” but I can give it a pass if the movie is cool enough. I think CD has really interesting takes on movies, understands to a good extent what audiences don’t want, and has a fun way of giving information. I think he also gets caught up in his own messaging and that comes off as corny to me. But it’s still entertaining so I watch his videos. And at least he’s drunk off his ass, not sure what Kathrine Kennedys excuse is

“Columbus wants more people to recognize it as a tourist destination”

janstantangelo
commented

I don’t think Columbus will never be a “tourist destination” because of its geographical location. Columbus does do a ok job, and needs to keep expanding on, luring people in with big events like the Arnold, sports games and gold tournaments, the quarter horse congress then capitalizing on that by having cool shit to do here.
