Baker had the same amount of losing seasons as winning. The manager does just that, he manages the team he’s been given. The manager’s ability to actually produce wins is very limited.

I’m pretty sure he was fired because he had the reputation as a massive playoff choke artist. He’s incredibly lucky he won a ring in 2022 or his career as a manager would be looked at very differently.

Meanwhile a few farms in the town I live switched to f150 lightnings (the Ford dealership had some kind of trade in promotion if you were a farmer) and they just abuse them with no real issues.

I do like the juxtaposition of one of the top posts in this sub today just being titled “Bell is to blame for the 2024 struggles” and then the team being immediately no hit, one of the least manager involved things to happen in baseball.

This argument will always be irrelevant as long as Dave Roberts has continued employment. Dude is a legit terrible manager, just ask Dodgers fans and boy will they tell you, yet he’s made the playoffs every year and has won 100+ games in 5 of his 7 full seasons so far not counting 2020 and this year.

What would theoretically happen if a coach refused to call a play? Based purely on math given that a delay of game becomes half the distance to the goal, it’s mathematically possible to indefinitely divide by half to the goal. If this situation were to happen, how would the refs or anyone for that matter respond?
