As an aside, I hate the idea of this message beyond clearly being asinine politically and racist. It’s implying that if you don’t agree with someone politically you’re just supporting “current thing” because its current thing. Like we have the attention span of flies.

Well theres a lot that smells suspicious about the assassination attempt.

Theres the fact that it happened in the first place which means someone in the secret service and whatever other security was around the event was not on the ball.

Then theres the fact that right after being shot at Trump doesn’t duck for cover or try to stay down. Instead he gets this iconic photo with him fist bumping and cheering.

Now he’s milking it for everything it’s worth and his allies are acting like it’s a blank check to go on the attack (not that they really needed it).

It also immediately got the internet disinformation mill churning. Conspiracy theories swirled about the shooter’s identity, his reasons, etc. including the belief that it was staged.

I want to add that while it may not point to the shooting being staged, it certainly hasn’t helped elicit sympathy or to shut down such ideas that many seem to forget that a man died. A member of the crowd was shot and killed. But he isn’t Trump so he doesn’t seem to get mentioned much.

I don’t think so. Granted I’ve only played France, Germany (prussia), Russia, and The US. Theres plenty to do.

Most of them have unique journal entries and things they work toward but that could be derailed by other GPs, major powers or even minors. You have enough weight to throw around, but the other great powers will not let you just get away with it. Especially if you colonize Africa or Ocenaia. Most of the GPs have unique journal entries to add to this. America has several about settling the west and the Indian Removal. France has the Royal Pretenders and Algeria. Russia and GB just got stuff for the Great Game.

Additionally, the top spot is rare to maintain. In my longest playthrough as France, it was swapping between me and the UK every couple of months.

Theres also what kind of nation you want to become. While some of the GP are somewhat liberal they do have a decent amount of room to change. The major political movements such Communism, Anarchism, Positivism, Fascism, Integralism, all offer unique forms of government and interesting rp/alt hist scenarios.

Finally, if you really find them bland, there are always mods to add in flavor, new options, etc. I highly suggest Morgenröte which adds new culture based events, journal entries, and even a whole section about recruiting artists and scientists (who themselves could become political agents). Another popular one is Hail Colombia! which adds a ton of America related flavor.

Anytime I hear Woke in this sort of context I tune it out. It’s so fucking stupid. It has no meaning either. If anyone wants to hate on something go ahead, but doing it because it’s woke is not only stupid, it lumps them in with racists, homophones and fascists. If they’re not, I kinda doubt such people are at this point but I’ll admit a lot of people have drank the kool aid or are simply too deeply isolated from outside ideas, then learn to articulate beyond buzzwords.

weird. But I kinda get it. At the same time I rarely played with them for a loooong time. I know they’re disabled for the AI by VTM. So I only really did it to make managing it easier.

Luckily I do have my bachelors, I just dunno if I’d be able to secure a job and housing. But it does make me say, maybe I should look into it.

Part of it was that it was also quick. It occurred entirely in his backstory monologue. When we meet him he’s kinda sad and pathetic but that divorce is just one part of it and he makes it clear he still loves MJ, he just doesn’t believe he can go back to her and try to convince her to try to make it work. That said, I do think it’s handled better than how any other media has handled such a split.

Hmm, thats a lot I might have to consider looking into this. Though idk if my job prospects improve any if I head to NZ or Australia.

Additionally I learned first hand they might just decide to colonize other parts of Africa on their own. Played a game as Spain and setup Spanish Guiena. I was colonizing Gabon and the Congo and even mentioned to nab the part of Gabon that France had. But Spanish guiena decided to settle a new colony there…For some reason. It might be because I had run out of room in Guiena, Ivory Coast, and the Windward coast and was boxed out of North Africa.

The US. I know DC is historically our capital, and that thats..the only reason we have it, but the economic capital is NY. And if I need pops DC rarely has them (this occurs a lot with Morengotte)

It’s not everyone. But decades of propaganda and a lackluster education system have done a lot of damage, add in that it’s difficult to change your understanding of such things if you don’t want to.
