It says "analysis" but there isn't a lot of analysis included in the article. Just a lot of outdated studies from biased sources that arrived at the conclusions they were hoping for based on their ideologies.

Even the part about employment. Privatization has created a ton of jobs but they complain about them being minimum wage. Would the checkout person at a LCBO location not be minimum wage? I can assure you that the supervisor at my local co-op liquor store does not make minimum wage and so they are not all minimum wage positions at these stores.

How about laws that benefit all of us and not just the privileged few like Mr. Mendicino? What about all of those mandatory minimums they let the courts quash without appeal or reworking? Why should the laws be more stringent for harassment towards Mr. Mendicino vs harassment towards myself?

An obviously intoxicated individual spit at myself and a group of colleagues the other day because we wouldn't give him money. One of the women in the group flagged down an officer on a bike nearby. He told her to not engage with such people and they likely won't spit at you. Then he rode off on his bike without even talking to the spitter. That's the world Mr. Mendicino has created but now he wants special treatment...

The article and the headline don't line up. The article makes a lot of good points about fumbles on taxation by the government causing a shrinking of the legal market which would benefit the illegal market. The idea that it has failed on all fronts is nonsense.
