UPDATE - Thank you to everyone who provided advice. ABRP is amazing when using with the Tesla NAV and I think it’s going to be possible. Love my Tesla and love knowing our charger network has grown so much —————
We live in south Florida and were planning to drive cross country with our ‘23 model X. We made a few stops (New Orleans, Austin, Roswell New Mexico, Tucson Arizona, etc) and max driving per day is about 8 hours
Everything was okay after hours of planning until we then tested the trip in segments via the Tesla nav app. To go from Austin TX to Roswell NM is an 8 hr drive. But, according to Tesla nav it will take 12.5 hours. I then installed plug share to see about other charger networks etc to see if we can make this work.
It’s been very very hard to plan and after owning Teslas for over 2 years, I’m experiencing a sort of range anxiety now that may end up killing our summer cross country trip.
Does anyone know if a good app to plan such a long trip that shows Tesla chargers and other fast chargers? I’ve never used a charger outside of Tesla, do the “charge point” chargers charge as fast as the Tesla fast chargers so we can stop, charge, and go like we normally would?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I’m afraid we may need to cancel the trip bc renting a car exceeds our budget.

So about 2 months back I spun up a new little home server running debian and portainer to run a few different docker services, one of those being TeslaMate.
I have to say I am really impresssed with the massive amount of data you can collect and some of the trends you can see. See attached image for our usage, I was quite suprised to see our average journey was only 5km!!! Alltho we have had no road trips in the past 2 months so that has likely kept the average distance per trip down.
The cost per km is in cents to by the way as I am using the custom rate function to allow for the free 3 hours of power with Contact. I have had a couple of nights where it has carried on for another 15-30 mins to top up the charge hence the small $8 in charging for 2 months.
It would be awesome to see what others are doing in terms of stats! I also drive with a bit of a heavy foot I guess and do a lot of motorway driving in my 21 Model 3 SR+ (55kwh version non-unicorn LFP).

Howdy fellow farmers!
I've been lurking here since the dawn of this blockchain, enjoying the opportunities to repurpose old hardware and play with cool technology.
The rise of GPU farming coinciding with the rise of local LLMs gave me the perfect reason to see if I could repurpose some old datacenter GPUs I got for dirt cheap on eBay (about $150 USD per card, I got the pair for $285) into compute workhorses.
The build is not yet fully complete but I'm ready to share some early pics of a contraption my kids have been calling 'The Beast' - a dual P100 eGPU rig based on USB 1x risers:
Gigahorse V3 C30 Farming benchmark (single GPU):
Partial Difficulty: 100 (0.555701 % chance) Max Farm Size u/512: 0.258294 PiB (physical) Max Farm Size u/256: 0.129147 PiB (physical) Max Farm Size u/128: 0.0645735 PiB (physical) Average time to compute quality: 0.696149 sec Maximum time to compute full proof: 0.054 sec
The PCIE transfers never went over 200mb/sec so looks like the cheap x1 mining risers do not limit this application, good for 16x8T at 2.5x compression per GPU.
LLM benchmarks are looking fairly decent on this setup:
~100 tok/sec 7B Q4 single stream gptq+vllm (per GPU)
~70 tok/sec 7B Q4 single stream exl2 (per GPU)
~400 tok/sec 7B Q4 batch gptq+vllm (per GPU)
~30 tok/sec 46B Q4 single stream exl2 (big model, uses both GPUs at once)
SDXL Image Generation is slower then I'd like around 1.5s per iteration.

A few days ago I got the matrix functionality on my 2023 Model 3 LR AWD via software version 2024.8.4 and decided to put it to the test on a variety of typical german roads.

An extended version of the Autobahn test:
Overall I am really happy about the new functionality. While pretty much driving with high beams on for nearly two hours I wasn’t flashed by other road users, even once.
I’m watching Carlin’s new vlog. Evan said they gave up the ford explorer and got a jeep. How much do influencers make? How do they have a jeep and a Tesla (not even cheap one), able to afford vacations, are getting an in ground pool, and have a decent size house? They must make a lot of money or are terrible with finances.
Also Katie and Travis have a house and an apartment and seem to have left a lot of furniture in their house. I’m just so curious!
