Cops doing the absolute opposite of what they're supposed to do and other cops covering it up? You're right, constantly is probably a better word

So just because it's decades old, the behavior is okay? The point here is that this shit happens regularly and has been happening for decades, and instead of other cops coming forward to admonish these pieces of garbage, they're celebrated and promoted so that they have even more power to cover up more atrocities

The freelance/self-employed route is also a great option (with tax incentives in portugal especially), but often requires a bit more experience. still possible a few years down the road

Marketing can be done remote and you could probably get a higher salary if you can find a company from the US or EU willing to hire you and let you work remote.

Men with six figures income, what profession do you work in? by Don_Pardon in AskMen

[–]tang123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a side note: you'll make more and have more job security if you can specialize. It's important to know all aspects of digital marketing and how they play into each other, but you should try to figure out which aspect(s) you're best at and get really good at it/them. Blogs, newsletters, courses, etc. are all great resources for learning about content marketing, copywriting, paid media, social media marketing, influencer marketing, etc.

Don't do a masters, get work experience. The field is evolving quickly and you'll be much better positioned to increase your compensation as you gain hands on experience.

Have you been to Quebec?

The unvaccinated are now forbidden to use public transportation in the Philippines starting tomorrow by papipota in worldnews

[–]tang123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Quebec, where over 90% of eligible people have at least 1 dose, and we’re still completely fucked. It certainly helps, but it’s not the only answer.

I’m not conservative lol, just someone who is in favour of our taxes being allocated efficiently instead of being tied up in committees, bureaucracy and corporate subsidies.

Obviously I believe in climate change, you’d have to be an absolute moron not to. That’s why I advocate for public transit, which has been underfunded and mismanaged for decades, despite continuous, predictable population growth and urban sprawl.

Our healthcare system wasn’t designed for a pandemic? It couldn’t even handle a spike in flu cases without overflowing into hallways, and that was long before the pandemic was here. No shit it was unprepared, every government, regardless of party, has consistently made cuts to it over the past 3 decades.

Are you referring to our fantastic healthcare system that collapses after 500 people get covid? Or our wonderful roads that are riddled with potholes? Or the useless public transportation networks in almost every major city? Or the giant subsidies and tax breaks we give to corporations, which they take advantage of on top of the loopholes they abuse to avoid paying their fair share? Just wondering

For sure, and that’s why people should get vaccinated, but this narrative that these people are scum because they spread it (as if vaccinated people don’t) is wrong, and only further divides people and reinforces their decision. These people are generally victims to misinformation, so instead of demonizing them, we should be combatting that information and providing the resources to get vaccinated, all while promoting healthy lifestyle choices that reduce the chances of hospitalization.

[–]tang123 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a solution though? I’m fully vaccinated with an appointment for a 3rd dose, because I think it’s the right thing to do, but unvaccinated people are not the only ones spreading it or getting hospitalized.

[–]tang123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that the government has made no effort to promote information on how to reduce the severity of covid (exercise, sunlight, vitamins) if you do catch it, or what you can do to help counter the effects (sleeping positions, breathing exercises, etc.) is alarming. Instead of shifting the blame to a tiny percentage of people (as if there is any chance of stopping the spread), they should be focusing on treatment and addressing the crumbling healthcare system they've neglected for decades.
